Saul Company concentrates on ownership, development, and construction of commercial real estate.The Paralegal will support the functions of the Legal Department's work in retail and office leasing, and development, while working with a diverse group of attorneys and internal contacts within the organization. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize a diverse and fast-paced workload.Duties & Responsibilities:Review lease or contract requests, and identify inconsistencies on such requests and work with leasing or development representative and the Legal Department to resolve any open issuesPrepare, review, edit and coordinate contracts, leases, lease amendments, lease assignments, legal correspondence and other documents for attorneys and leasing or development representativesGather information needed, research and incorporate prior negotiated language (confirm any nonconforming language with Legal Department)With supervision of attorney, negotiate open business and legal points in minor contracts and lease amendments and renewals, and obtain internal approvals of negotiated solutions with leasing or development representative and the Legal Department, as necessaryManage the processing and payment of legal services invoicesPrepare corporate organizational documents for transactionsPrepare redlines and revisions of subsequent drafts of lease documentsDraft internal and external correspondenceCollaborate with attorneys, leasing agents and other departments to keep deals moving efficiently and timelyOrganize and maintain documents and filings to ensure complianceProvide due diligence supportRespond to email inquiries for Legal DepartmentPhotocopy and scan documents and prepare and send documents and correspondence by mail and courier deliveryComplete other various projects and duties as assignedJob Requirements (Skills/Abilities):Superior organization skillsMust have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacyAbility to deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, via telephone and in writingAbility to work in a positive and cooperative manner with fellow team membersMust possess strong attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materialsCapability to work in fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and successfully manage multiple competing tasks and deadlinesAbility to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignmentsProficiency with Microsoft Suite of tools with the ability to learn and use new software and systemsExperience:3-5+ years of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experiencePrevious experience in a legal department of a real estate company is preferredEducation / Licenses / Certifications:Bachelor's DegreeParalegal certification preferredBFS7501The Company requires that its employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless they have an approved medical or religious accommodation.B.
