About the Position: We are seeking a full time Billing Specialist to work in our pediatric therapy clinic(s) located in Washington, DC & Arlington, VA. The position will start with: learning our current system and serving as a liaison without current 3rd party billing staff managing verification of benefits obtaining appropriate ICD10 codes from clinicians managing system to obtain plans of care/progress notes/other documentation as needed for re-authorizations, medical reviews, and appeals coordinating and implementing transition to a new EMR system setting up systems and procedures for practice to bring billing in-house assist with hiring additional billing staff if needed After billing procedures are developed from within company, responsibilities will include: verifying patient benefits and eligibility securing authorizations for services to start and on an ongoing basis accurately coding and filing insurance claims and other billing related tasks (cash-based programs) collection of payments, reconciling accounts, interpreting EOBs actively pursuing uncollected payments and appealing denials obtaining requested documentation from clinicians and submitting to payers What we can offer you! flexible schedule (possible remote work!) competitive salary - salary commensurate with experience and skill level bonus incentive structure PTO 401K after 6 months short term disability long term disability life insurance medical insurance vision insurance dental insurance Requirements Qualified candidate must excel in interpersonal communication and customer service and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. This includes the ability to professionally and diplomatically discuss difficult topics while promoting the company's position. The candidate must excel in organization and attention to detail , can problem-solve to a logical conclusion and demonstrate initiative and responsibility. In addition, the candidate must have good listening skills , and be able to effectively and clearly communicate (written and verbal) in English. Fluency in ICD/CPT coding is necessary for this position and prior experience working in a therapy setting is a plus but not required.
