Undergraduate Recruitment and Engagement Specialist The George Mason University, School of Business, invites applications for the position of Undergraduate Recruitment and Engagement Specialist. This position will provide administrative, logistical, and recruitment support to the recruitment and engagement function, within the School of Business Undergraduate Programs team. The Undergraduate Recruitment and Engagement Specialist is a full-time staff position with full benefits. Responsibilities:The Undergraduate Recruitment and Engagement Specialist has responsibilities in the following areas: Administrative Support and OutreachAssistance with day-to-day operations of Undergraduate Recruitment and Engagement, to include: outreach via phone, email, and mass communication systems, constituent engagement and management, and other administrative tasks;Coordinate and conduct prospective student appointments and group information sessions;Liaison between MarCom and Recruitment teams, while assisting with marketing and communication projects as assigned; andImplement and lead new initiatives for improved personalization of student outreach and engagement.LC Student Leadership ProgramsLead development efforts for Peer Mentor Program;Supervise student staff, including initial training and conducting one-on-one meetings with mentors;Create and implement a LC Council that supports student programs and initiatives, while providing leadership opportunities for students;Provide mentorship and guidance to students chosen for both peer mentor and council programs;Create and implement Business and Entrepreneurship Emerging Leaders (BEEL) Certificate; andServe as a resource to student staff and mentees for professional development, crisis intervention, and general support. Living Learning Community SupportIndividual will oversee the day-to-day programming and operations of the learning community for the School of Business;Co-supervise LC student staff with HRL Community Director(s);Oversee marketing and outreach efforts for recruiting new and returning LC students, programs, and major HRL events;Lead the development/ implementation of programs for the first year and upper levels of the Business and Entrepreneurship LC;Primary function for crisis intervention support and any ensuing student support and advocacy;Serve as liaison to HRL in support of room assignments and floor planning;Engage all students who live on campus in other university housing or learning communities;Attend all LC Central meetings and trainings;Collaborate with Housing and Resident Life at Mason in support of HRL initiatives; andCollaborate with HRL and School of Business faculty and staff to implement and carry out a regular assessment program for the LC. Collaboration with School of Business Student ServicesContinuous collaboration with student services within the unit to assure proper policies, scope of services, and events are communicated to all prospective students and guests, as well as, to our students residing in the LC;Serve as point of contact for Beta Gamma Sigma and associated events and programs;Collaborate with School of Business student services to provide outreach and oversight of student organizations; andServe as a liaison between admissions counselors and School of Business Academic Advisors. Event Planning and Coordination Position will support Undergraduate Programs through various events throughout the year. These events will support Undergraduate Recruitment & Engagement, Academic Advising, and major ceremonies and celebrations. Individual will work with stakeholders to remain within the budget needed for each specific event;Coordinating recruitment activities including fairs, open houses, and on-site visits;Logistical oversight of new summer programs for community partners;Collaborating with stakeholders for central and School-specific recruitment activities; and Assist the Office of Student Success and Academic Services to offer event planning assistance and operation support. Liaison to School and University ConstituentsIndividual will represent Undergraduate Recruitment and Engagement to University and School partners. To include: Marketing and Communications, Enrollment Management and Marketing, School of Business Minor Programs, University Admissions, Housing and Residence Life, Alumni Relations, School of Business Development, and academic partners; and Continuously collaborate with campus partners to provide experiential learning programs and opportunities to School of Business students. Required Qualifications:A bachelor's degree, or a combination of equivalent education and experience, preferably in admissions and recruitment;Experience in higher education environment;Knowledge of recruitment and admission trends within higher education, community colleges, high school and adult student outreach, and certificate programs;Must have the ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in a highly visible office;Must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills; andAbility to provide timely and relevant input concerning external relations activities, meetings, and events as well as to act for the good of the Undergraduate Recruitment and Outreach team and the School in a wide variety of situations. Preferred Qualifications:A master's degree in education or student affairs;Experience in higher education environment within a School of Business with independent enrollment goals;Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of all applications in Microsoft Office, electronic calendaring, e-mail, university applications such as MicroStrategy, Banner, and Salesforce, school applications and files, and Admissions/ University databases and reporting formats;Excellent customer service skills as this function frequently interacts with guests, students, and community partners in-person and virtually;Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and in support of all levels of school/ institutional leadership;Ability to work independently and to complete multiple tasks within tight deadlines; andAbility to learn and adapt in new, fast paced environments.
