Director, Product Management- Performance Analytics: Consumer Bank Marketing Technology

Director, Product Management- Performance Analytics Consumer Bank Marketing Technology

At Capital One, we believe great products begin with a deep understanding of our customers. From our earliest days, we pioneered the use of predictive modeling to individually personalize credit card offers, turning the entire industry on its head. As we've grown bigger, we've found more and more ways to use technology and face-to-face conversations to understand the human problems associated with money and finances.

Bank Marketing is seeking a dynamic, high-performing Director, Product Performance Analytics to lead its marketing, operations and performance analytics teams developing data technologies and insights, both proprietary and open-source. This position will have a significant impact on the Retail Bank marketing, so we are seeking someone who is passionate around marketing and who can drive a vision and deliver on commitments.

As a Product Manager focusing on our Consumer Bank Marketing Analytics products, you'll be joining a passionate team of product managers, data analysts, engineers, data scientists, and business analysts working to redefine how millions of customers interact with their money. This position will lead a team of Data and Business Analysts charged with driving our data and product strategy focused on Marketing frameworks. They will work across key partners within Marketing and across the company to develop tools to enable rigorous optimizations and understand key marketing flows from data enablement of campaign strategies and campaigns including insights for digital marketing and website analytics. The ideal candidate will have worked across a variety of tools and understand where best in class third party tools and technologies are balanced with proprietary ones.

On any given day in the Marketing Team you'll be:
  • Creating leading-edge data products related to marketing and campaigns
  • Driving real-time data needs and tools for optimization and innovations based on stakeholder data needs
  • Providing strategic leadership on large cross-functional horizontal initiatives
  • Reporting on data analysis activities to partner groups and executives, incorporating novel reporting and data visualization techniques
  • Working in an agile fashion, managing the stakeholder set and capacity for the team

Key accountabilities:
  • Partner with various marketing, engineering and enterprise functions in adopting and informing data flow standards across ingestion, transformation, access and publishing
  • Work closely with Marketers on our path of digital transformation to help bring to life the new tools and ways of analyzing data in a digital marketing world.
  • Drive insights related to the digital marketing workstreams and the website to inform partner roadmaps and optimization plans
  • Building and integrating streaming data capabilities and platforms to enhance the Marketing data infrastructure and flow both in Retail bank and informing across Capital One
  • Driving data source and tool innovations based on stakeholder data needs, including adoption of cloud native technologies
  • Development of a program to train and enhance associate skill-sets and actively championing the usage and adoption of data tools and solutions across the entire RDB Data Analyst community
  • Strategic orientation in their ability to define roadmaps in an incremental way to support business goals

Here is what you will bring to the table:
  • Curious. You ask why, you explore, you're not afraid to blurt out your crazy idea, or follow an email chain for weeks to find someone with an answer. You are passionate about marketing and data and figuring out the answer to consumer experience questions.
  • Do-er. You have a bias toward action, you try things, and sometimes you fail. You dug up a hidden feature in an API that let you do something really cool or introduced a new routine that broke down silos led to better decisions.
  • Passionate. You care about growing others and bringing them together around what's possible. You've started meetup groups or passionately read marketing blogs because you love enabling others.
  • Communicator. You can communicate complex ideas clearly, your team knows their priorities and why they're doing what they're doing. Maybe you're an introvert, or maybe you're an extrovert, but nobody accuses you of keeping them out of the loop.
  • Fearless. Big, undefined problems don't frighten you. You can work at a tiny crack until you've broken open the whole nut. You are comfortable saying no.

Here is what we will bring to the table:
  • Competitive salary and equity (including a robust 401(k) plan)
  • Excellent medical and dental insurance (and other health benefits)
  • Superstar product, design, data and engineering leaders [Paypal, Google, Gilt, Yodle, AOL, Adaptive Path]
  • Top class engineering teams that you will lead and build product alongside
  • Continuous learning budget
  • Highly supportive and "bought in" leadership environment

Basic Qualifications:
