  • You will implement standard operating procedures, software and controls to ensure appropriate levels of security.
  • You will assign, supervise and approve work efforts within the branch.
  • You will conduct testing to insure operability, efficiency, and compliance with existing standards.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret/SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 451 level 3 within 6 months of appointment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications for GS-13 Position: In order to qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform successfully the duties of the position such as:
  • Leading, managing, and directing complex technical activities, evaluating and resolving technical issues, and coordinating personnel and budgetary resources.
  • Planning and integration of complex Information Technology in an operational environment in such disciplines as scientific data acquisition, data processing, database relationships, data management, and IT maintenance.
  • Overseeing configuration and installation of applications and software on network equipment and the changing of components of existing equipment for efficient operation.
  • Expert in DNS, File Server, Windows Laptops (to include installing images), AD Group Policy (creating and troubleshooting), Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) and utilizing DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).

Education

"This position has been designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position in specialty area 451 (System Administration) and as a condition of employment, incumbents of the position are required to comply with the DON Cyber IT/CSWF Program requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2, which includes:
  • Earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualification Matrix (described in SECNAV M-5239.2) associated with the specialty area and level commensurate with the scope of major assigned duties for the position to which you are assigned, and;
  • Participate in a continuous learning program as described in SECNAVINST 1543. A minimum of 40 hours of Cyber IT/CSWF related continuous learning annually documented in a current individual development plan signed by both the employee and supervisor."
