Paralegal Boutique Trusts and Estates firm with locations in Towson and Annapolis, Maryland seeks Paralegal. This position provides comprehensive legal support in the area of estate administration for the law firm. The Paralegal assists with all phases of Estate Administration including research, client communication, and preparation and organization of documents. This position requires a reliable, detail-oriented and driven person and offers training and mentoring benefits, paid holidays and vacation, and a desirable working environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Perform legal support work pertaining to the administration of trusts and estates, prepare legal documents, and agreements Prepare accountings related to trust and estate administration and other tax returns Perform basic legal research as needed to resolve routine legal questions Review and draft estate documents, letters, and probate procedures/documents based on specific client needs Assist with preparing inventories and accountings for estate administration Assist the managing attorney with client communication over the phone and in person Communicate with Court, Recorder's and Assessor's Offices to ensure updated information and timely handling of matters Meet with clients, court personnel and others, as needed Manage timelines and deadlines for estate administration cases Provide legal administrative assistance for the firm including organization, filing, making copies, ticklers, scheduling/calendaring Apply for and obtain EINs, per attorney requests File Deeds with the Division of Land Records Skills: Express information clearly, both in written and oral communications, particularly telephone and e-mail communication Apply policies and procedures to a variety of (clear and unclear) situations consistently Take or recommend appropriate action in a limited time frame Learn, retain and effectively communicate specific details Education & Experience: Paralegal certification preferred, but not required Prior experience in a professional law firm, trust department, or accounting firm preferred, but not required Notary Public preferred, but not required Must be highly proficient in MS Office (ie Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Job Type: Full-time Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Parental leave Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday to Friday COVID-19 considerations: Firm policy available upon request; fully vaccinated persons only need apply.
