Job Objectives: The Employment Case Manager (ECM) provides intensive case management to individuals served in training programs and residents of The Light House. The position performs client intake, creates an Individualized Employment Plan (IEP), assessment of employment eligibility, job coaching, resume writing, follow up with clients, and upkeep of program files. Additionally, the ECM networks with public and private employers to develop employment opportunities for clients. Applicants should have experience in Employment or Workforce Development Case Management. The ECM works under the supervision of the Director of Employment Partnerships & Initiatives.Tasks and Responsibilities: Tasks and responsibilities are inclusive of, but not limited to:Conduct participant screening and comprehensive assessment of job readiness, strengths, and barriers and in collaboration with participants establish Individual Employment Plans (IEP). Monitor caseload weekly.Establish and maintain personal contact with local social services agencies and community resources to facilitate the referral of individual participantsHelp participants secure employment through employment-focused comprehensive case management, barrier reduction etc.Document and maintain up-to-date electronic client files using HMIS and MDWorks. Track all employment data. Ensure accurate documentation of support services. Complete all required paperwork and service tracking reports according to deadlines.Provide group-based job coaching by facilitating soft skills program and incorporating volunteers to assist with developing resumes and cover letters, interview skills and conducting job searches.Coordinate volunteers to staff Employment Resource Center and/or facilitate soft-skills workshops for clients.In collaboration with the Director of Employment Partnerships & Initiatives, conduct outreach to businesses in the community in order to develop employment and internship opportunities for participants.Identifies community resources for recruitment purposes. Screens applicants for eligibility.Foster trauma-informed and open and safe space for clients using best practices.Other duties as required by business needs.Requirements: Applicants should have experience in Employment or Workforce Development Case Management.Familiarity with the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment & Training (SNAP E&T), WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) and/or Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA) Work program rules and regulations required.Familiarity with community resources and social services benefitsMinimum 2-year work experience in case management.Must possess a valid driver's license.Experience effectively working with special populations including cultural differences, homelessness, domestic violence and substance abuse.Ability to diffuse conflict in a positive manner.Experience providing job readiness and employment services to individuals preferred.Post-employment background check required.Communicate effectively and orally in writing.Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff, volunteers, clients, outside agencies, and the public.Remain flexible and quickly adapt to inevitable process changes.Ability to self-motivate and possess strong time-management and organizational skills while managing a high volume of client interactions.Strong administrative and problem-solving skills.About The Light House: The Light House is a Homeless Prevention Support Center that has served the community as a basic needs provider of food, shelter and support services for over 30 years.
