This position is on a SCA contract which is subject to the terms and conditions of the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA).This position is classified as AMEWAS labor category Technician.About the location: California, Maryland or Patuxent River, Maryland #1 City Hiring the Most High-Tech Workers (California-Lexington Park, Maryland). To learn more about our surrounding location, please visit: Visit St. Mary's.This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.A typical day as an EMI Engineering Technician may include:Research, design, develop, test, or supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use.Defines, designs, integrates, and modifies electromagnetic interference test and measurement systems.Operates and maintains equipment, high voltage (or other complex) systems equipment and components used to perform electromagnetic radiated susceptibility, radiated emissions, conducted susceptibility, and conducted emissions test and evaluation.Plans and conducts electromagnetic interference testing, data collection, and analyses.Manages, organizes, directs, and leads a technical team responsible daily operations and maintenance of electromagnetic test and measurement systems.Identifies test and measurement system malfunctions and coordinating repair/maintenance requirements.Acts as engineering team leader or supervisor, developing engineering procedures and controls, managing project efforts, and taking the lead in problem resolution. Interfaces with system or project contractors, vendors, and Government representatives regarding the technical aspects of engineering programs/projects.Operates and maintains equipment, high voltage (or other complex) systems equipment and components used to perform electromagnetic radiated susceptibility, radiated emissions, conducted susceptibility, and conducted emissions test and evaluation.Maintains, repairs, operates, inspects, troubleshoots, or programs systems equipment or components.Supports EMI testing per MIL-STD-461Must-haves:HS diploma or equivalentMinimum of 5-10 years' experience specifying, designing and testing EMI/EMC capabilities for electrical components and subsystems.Highly proficient in the use and understanding of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theories; frequent contributor to the development of new theories and methods.The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearanceCOVID-19 Vaccination RequirementAMEWAS, Inc. requires employees to be vaccinated from COVID-19 by 4 January 2022. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.
