OverviewBusiness Development Manager, US EastGeocycle, a member of LafargeHolcim, is a leading provider of industrial, agricultural and municipal waste management services worldwide. We apply the proven technology of "A< oeco-processing' and utilize existing facilities in cement industry to resolve waste challenges sustainably. This enables us to recover energy and recycle materials from waste. We contribute towards a regenerative, circular economy that closes resource cycles. Geocycle manages more than 10 million tons of waste annually, thus making a tangible contribution to bringing society a step closer to a zero-waste future. PURPOSEDevelop commercial supply chain for alternative raw material supply and non-hazardous fuels into preprocessing facilities for preparation and use in cement kilns or complementary re-use/third party markets. Manage the business development and sales function for the assigned business unit, including analytics, presenting, client relationship management, revenue generation and profit maximization. Responsibility for sales in more than one product line.This role will require a specific focus on alternative raw materials, non-hazardous/non-regulated solid and liquid fuel streams. Experience or exposure to industry segments including alternative raw materials for the cement industry, recycling, NHSM fuels, hazardous and non-hazardous liquid waste disposal, beneficial reuse, environmental services, oil recyclers, and chemical distribution, or similar is preferred.This role includes a large territory and supports our Cement Plants located in MI, MD, NY, MO and OH. The territory may cover generators in neighboring States and other geographies on the East Coast.ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIESDemonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areasLeads and owns all aspects of existing and prospective client relationshipsResponsible for key account management and business developmentResponsible for client retention and identification of new revenue streamsOptimize revenues by understanding options available to customers, existing prices, transportation costs, and capacity availability in order to establish effective pricing within established guidelinesOversees new and existing account services through quality checks and other follow-up as specified per department requirements; identifies and resolves client concernsStrategic awareness of industry and marketplace including knowledge of trends in territory, upcoming events, closings, follow-up, reports on special developments, information, concerns or feedbackgathered through field activityBuild upon client relationships and ensure a smooth creation, execution, assessment, and ongoing enhancement of customer's needsMaintain market information related to competition, future opportunitiesProvide operational guidance and issue resolution for client businessRepresent company in industry organizationsProtect the company's receivables on all contracts to limit bad debt exposure, while managing creditand accounts receivable process for customers with support from credit and billing teams.Identify and manage new business opportunities outside of existing businesses (eg waste oil, wastewater, etc)Addresses and resolves customer service inquiries, requests and complaintsRELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER JOBSInteracts and builds collaboration with quality, production, process and environmental managers at the cement plants. Supports and works with Geocycle CSRs and Site Supervisors/Managers. Communicates leads outside their region to other Sales RepresentativesQualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESRequired Education: Bachelor's/Undergraduate DegreeField of Study Preferred: Environmental/Sustainability, Engineering, Business Administration or MarketingRequired Work Experience: 3-5 years, preferred experience in the cement industry within process, production, or qualityTravel Requirements: 50% local and regional travelRequired Computer and Software Skills: Must be proficient in use of Microsoft Office applicationsAdditional Requirements:Proven customer relationship building skills, with local/regional business knowledgeDemonstrated ability to identify new business in alignment with company strategyStructured approach to sales activity management and accountabilityMust have a proven track record for speed of execution with accuracyMust be able to generate tangible results by influencing othersStrong organization, administrative and presentation skillsExperience in supplier relationship managementExperience within the waste management and /or waste fuels industry is a plus
