See below for details and apply today!Day-to-Day Role:Set up, start, adjust, test, calibrate, operate, diagnose, troubleshoot and properly shut down process specialized equipment in accordance with published production schedules and product specifications.Set up, operate and monitor specialized computer controlled or robot process machinery (ie thermoforming, extrusion, press, injection molding, etc.) from raw materials through downstream finished goods, ensuring quality and consistencyAdjust equipment as needed to maximize up time, rates and yieldsMonitor equipment for mechanical problems by listening for unusual noises and visually checking gears, hoses, gauges, materials, etc.Troubleshoot and fix complex equipment and/or material problemsDiagnose and change out defective partsMay assist with changeovers and mold changesUse advanced measuring equipment such as micrometers, scales, scannersImplement programs to standardize and minimize production changeovers and machine downtimePerform general preventative maintenance on equipment (ie fill lube lines, lube chain rails, grease guns, etc.)Maintain production logs and reports as requiredPromptly notify the Maintenance Department of any maintenance requiredNotify supervisor of significant deviations from normal operating conditionsServe as a technical resource for less experienced operatorsCore Skills and Qualifications:The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:Level IIOne (1) year experience operating manufacturing and process control equipment or equivalent technical school or apprentice experiencePrevious plant production software experience required; SAP experience preferredMath skills to include simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and divisionFamiliar with and ability to convert decimals to fractions or vice versaMechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot problems including knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, uses, repair, and maintenanceAbility to observe, follow, understand, and evaluate processes demostrated and other workplace proceduresDemonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issuesFrequently ascend and descend forklifts, ladders and scaffoldingUtilize visual acuity occasionally to frequentlyHave sufficient color acuityExposure to extreme heat, loud noise, dirt, dust, odors, and fumes is probableRequired to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in required areasMay be required to work additional hours including weekends, holidays, and/or overtimePreferred Skills and Qualifications:Previous powered industrial truck experience Paper converting, chemical/plastics processing and/or packaging industrial experienceLevel IIITwo (2) years' experience operating manufacturing and process control equipment or equivalent technical school or apprentice experienceSpecific experience operating thermoforming, injection molding, extrusion, press, machinesPrevious plant production software experience required, SAP experience preferredMath skills to include simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and divisionFamiliar with and ability to convert decimals to fractions or vice versaAdvanced mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot complex problems including knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, uses, repair, and maintenanceAbility to read, understand, and interpret blueprintsAbility to observe, follow, understand, and evaluate processes demonstrated and other workplace proceduresDemonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issuesFrequently ascend and descend forklifts, ladders and scaffoldingUtilize visual acuity occasionally to frequentlyHave sufficient color acuityExposure to extreme heat, loud noise, dirt, dust, odors, and fumes is probableRequired to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in required areasMay be required to work additional hours including weekends, holidays, and/or overtimePreferred Skills and Qualifications: Five (5) years' experience operating manufacturing and process control equipment or equivalent technical school or apprentice experiencePrevious powered industrial truck experienceOverview: As the manufacturer of DartA' (R) and SoloA' (R) brand products, Dart Container is an industry leading single-use food and beverage packaging company.
