The right candidate will enjoy a fast-paced team environment and working with groundbreaking technology. We are seeking a self-starter that assists in building robotics and artificial intelligence projects. The candidate for this position will work a wide variety of challenging activities in direct support of sponsor programs and will support MITRE's AI and autonomy efforts.Responsibilities include:Work on a team to develop and implement autonomy algorithms on robotics hardwareDevelop and use modern software engineering techniques to create artificial intelligence softwareMaintain knowledge of advances of autonomy and/or artificial intelligence in industry and academiaCollect and analyze sensor and algorithm data to improve robotics system performanceDevelop, propose, and execute research in the field of autonomy and AIEvaluate autonomy and AI solutions and compare to sponsor requirements and needsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fieldAdvanced degree in technical field of study, preferred2+ years of applicable work experienceRequired Qualifications:Must be a US citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearanceProficiency in use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and WordMust have demonstrated proficiency and strength in verbal, written, PC, presentation, and communications skillsProven ability to work independently to learn new technologies, techniques, processes, languages, platforms, systemsExcellent written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to nurture relationship development with sponsorsPreferred Qualifications:Preference given to qualified candidates with active/current DoD Secret ClearanceKnowledge of robotics and autonomous systems technologies, techniques, architectures, and algorithmsExperience in artificial intelligence fields, such as computer vision, deep learning, machine learning, planning, human machine teaming, and multi-robot systemsExperience with robotics software and frameworks, eg ROS.Experience with programming languages such as C++ and python.Experience with AI development tools such as Tensor Flow, etc Knowledge of the challenges of developing autonomous and/or AI systems that are robust in real world scenariosKnowledge of software engineering practices such as continuous integration, source control, software testingThis requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s):MITRE requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
