Job DescriptionAs part of Aetna's Commercial Product organization, the New Product Development (NPD) Department is responsible for designing, delivering, and managing new product offerings for Aetna's commercial plan sponsors. Given the importance of managing medical costs and supporting members on their path to better health, one of NPD's priority areas is to develop new clinical products and solutions that meet customer needs and differentiate Aetna in the marketplace. As a Senior Director of Clinical Program Design, you will be responsible for executing on our clinical design strategy that includes care management, chronic condition and wellbeing. In addition, you will be a resource to clinical operations to establish best practices. The key areas of focus are life-style coaching programs, incentives, wellbeing behavior change, and engagement platform. The Senior Director of Clinical Program Design will partner with various Aetna stakeholders including sales distribution, underwriting, sales, actuarial, finance, and marketing, to drive bottom line growth for the segments as well as work closely with enterprise partners who are developing clinical solutions for multiple stakeholders, providing input on the health plan perspective and supporting value realization. In this role, you will have a team of direct reports and be responsible for leading, coaching and developing team members in the successful pursuit of addressing the clinical program design needs of the commercial business. Additional Responsibilities include:- Develop our overall clinical program design for commercial business products, self-insured and fully insured- Lead the ideation and development of new clinical program designs focused on best practices, integration, optimization, the member experience, and engagement- Provide ongoing product management, with a focus on product design, for case management, chronic conditions, and wellness/ population health management products - Drive the development of new case management product design and capabilities and seamlessly integrate into the Aetna care management ecosystem- Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of clinical products and processes- Guide research of the competitive landscape to inform best practice clinical design strategies- Provide clinical program design expertise on integration and CVS Health asset utilization- Assist with the development of training by working with the sales enablement and field management teams on the new offerings- Regularly monitors, reports and acts on key clinical design indicators to effectively develop clinical program design efforts - Champion the clinical program design discipline and supports the stage gate product development process within NPD, the Commercial Product organization, and across the enterprise- Communicate and consult with Senior Management to ensure that clinical design and product initiatives focus on long term results/earnings and represent all constituencies effectively (for example segments, consumers, providers)- Communicate effectively with direct team and across stakeholders to align on and manage against clinical product priorities- Recruit, select and cultivate well-qualified, diverse, and talented team members- Provide management support to team, including all aspects of objective setting and performance management, for example performance reviews, feedback and ongoing growth and development- Identify long term needs of the organization and establishes succession plans for key personnel- Maintain environment and reward system that encourages initiative, learning and empowermentRequired Qualifications- At least 8 years of healthcare and/or health insurance experience- Minimum 5 years of Product Management, Product Development and/or Product or Program Design experienceCOVID RequirementsCOVID-19 Vaccination RequirementCVS Health requires its Colleagues in certain positions to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including any booster shots if required), where allowable under the law, unless they are approved for a reasonable accommodation based on disability, medical condition, pregnancy, or religious belief that prevents them from being vaccinated.If you are vaccinated, you are required to have received at least one COVID-19 shot prior to your first day of employment and to provide proof of your vaccination status within the first 30 days of your employment.
