Responsibilities The key functions of the Safety Manager are to support specific project needs and ensure that best practices are implemented, safety compliance requirements are met, and an improved safety culture and performance is delivered.Oversee all aspects of a commercial construction project ensuring OSHA complianceConduct daily safety meetingsComplete accident reports and conduct accident investigationsEnsure all personnel wear their personal protective equipment (PPE)Daily safety audits and inspectionsOversee all subcontractors and contractorsInspect power tools and heavy equipmentWrite job hazard analysis (JHA) and health & safety plans (HASP)Oversee Fall Protection, Scaffolding, Steel Erection, and Excavation Qualifications HazTek Safety Management is hiring for full-time, long-term opportunities within our Mid-Atlantic Region of Maryland - Virginia All candidates must embody HazTek's Core Values of integrity, compassion, dependability, support, and accountability to be considered for employment Qualifications and experience may vary for each opportunity below you will find a list of common qualification we seek in our Safety Professionals. 5+ years direct construction safety experience requiredOSHA 30 hour in construction certificationOSHA 510 and or 500 First Aid/CPR certifiedBCSP credentials Degree in a safety related field Advance knowledge of construction safety standardsExperience developing a Site Specific Safety PlanExperience developing a Corporate Health and Safety PlanMust have advanced experience in Fall Protection, Scaffolding, Steel Erection, and Excavation classesOwners Rep experience Proficient Microsoft Office computer skills Must have great verbal and written communication skills Ability to represent HazTek professionally; treating all trades and management with respect Ability to mentor, coach and educate on multiple safety topics across many types of tradesCandidates must reside in Maryland and or Virginia area to be considered for these full-time long-term opportunities Ability to drive up to 50 miles per day will be required Ability to for overnight travel is helpful but not necessary Experience preferred in the following areas: ConstructionContractor Safety OversightPharmaceutical Heavy Civil Electrical Data Center At HazTek, We Stand Together for Safety HazTek Inc. is committed to building an environment of inclusion and acceptance that values diversity across all areas of the organization - an environment in which all employees have an opportunity to participate and contribute to the success of the business and are valued for their skills, experience, and unique perspectives.
