SummaryLidl US is looking for a Sr. Corporate Counsel for Data Privacy & Compliance. In this role, you will be responsible for the technical and personnel management of the Compliance & Privacy teams within the Legal, Compliance & Risk Department. You will ensure Lidl US works towards compliance with laws and internal guidelines through the development and operation of an appropriate and effective Compliance Management System (CMS) including Anti-Bribery/Anti-Corruption, Antitrust, Sanctions and Data Privacy. You will also be responsible for ensuring the adequacy and efficiency of the compliance system including being responsible for the strategic implementation of the CMS and the associated compliance programs.What You'll DoProvide day to day management of all aspects of the Compliance Management System (CMS) implementation (anti-trust, anti-bribery, sanctions and data privacy), including program development and operation, taking into account the requirements of both Lidl International and also US specific requirementsManage risk assessment programs and ensure systematic analysis of existing/ potential compliance risks, as well as ensuring compliance initiatives are being carried outSupervise the development and delivery of training modules covering complex areas of law and regulationEnsure training content follows best practice and aligns with the company's strategy to handle various complex legal and regulatory challengesProcess and ensure the adequate response/ investigation of indications of possible compliance violationsConduct in-depth legal research using Westlaw and other legal research toolsMaintain an effective compliance communication policy including the development, facilitation, delivery and monitoring of Compliance awareness efforts and trainingPerform internal audits on existing policies and procedures, conduct investigations, and develop recommendations that align with the company standardsObserve and provide analysis on relevant legislation and case lawWhat You'll NeedBachelor's, Law degree/JD/LLM or international equivalentCompliance/ Privacy Professional Certification [Preferred]4 - 6 years of experienceBar admission (Admitted to practice law in any US state and in good standing)Significant experience in a high-demand professional settingUnderstanding of US corporate law and corporate compliance best practice in a wide range of focus areas (such as anti-bribery/anti-corruption, Antitrust, Sanctions, Data Privacy, Risk Management etc.)Leadership skills, negotiation, training and investigation skillsAbility to use discretion and diplomacy in all communications and to interface with cross-functional and international teams at all levelsProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteWhat You'll ReceiveAt Lidl, we know that in order for our people to do their best, they must be at their best.
