We offer competitive rates and a comprehensive benefit package for part time and full time associates.We are hiringat the followingMedStarhospitals:MedStar Franklin Square Medical CenterMedStar Good SamaritanMedStar Union Memorial HospitalMedStar Harbor HospitalJob SummaryPerforms diagnostic ultrasound examinations for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician.Minimum QualificationsEducation/TrainingCertification in Diagnostic Sonography by ARDMS preferred, or graduation from an accredited Ultrasound program (registry eligible) with certification in Diagnostic Sonography by ARDMS within 1 year of hire.Experience2 years diagnostic or ultrasound experience preferredLicense/Certification/RegistrationCPR certification.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesVerbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssists physician in administering medicines as required.Assists physician in such procedures as needle biopsies, amniocentesis, and renal biopsies. Scans patient, marks patient's body, determines angle for puncture, assists as necessary, and maintains sterile technique.Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.Generates computer images or film through automatic processing and evaluates quality.Maintains records of examination data and other pertinent information on patients.Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams.Performs ultrasound techniques and examinations, abdominal scans, retroperitoneal scans, obstetric and gynecology scans, and radiation therapy localization for treatment planning and minor surgical procedures.Secures and returns supplies such as film, linens, medicine, and patient folders.Selects and operates equipment as directed.Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.About MedStar HealthMedStar Health is dedicated to providing the highest quality care for people in Maryland and the Washington, DC, region, while advancing the practice of medicine through education, innovation and research.
