Strong technical leadership in architecture development, power design, video standards and processing, and selection/test of sensor processing hardware is preferred.Position spans the technology development life cycle. Candidate will lead a small group of engineers through requirements generation, system design and implementation, hardware procurement, integration, and test of COTS/custom computing hardware in a Navy sheltered environment.Specific Responsibilities include:Analyzing requirementsReverse engineering legacy designsActively participating in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Navy customer reviewsDefining architectures to meet the requirements that includes unique interfaces to external sensors; power designs ranging from motor interfaces to COTS processing equipment; video translation across digital and analog formats; video processing to displaysLeading a team to implement the designs, including interfacing with other engineering disciplines (Systems, Mechanical, Software, Manufacturing, Supportability)Designing and reviewing Circuit card schematics, sub-assemblies, chassis, and cabinets to ensure end to end performanceSelecting components, cables, and designs to meet the operational environment which includes strict EMI standardsSelecting components to procure for trade studies, evaluation and critical item testing to prove out the designConducting lab evaluations of the designs through selloff and lifetime product supportBasic Qualifications:Experience developing electrical engineering designs from concept through implementation and testExperience with evaluation and selection of both custom and commercial-off-the-shelf componentsExperience with power designs: 3-Phase, single-phase, filters, power conditioning, and distributionFamiliar with communications protocols such as USB, High bandwidth Ethernet, serial, CANBUS, and videoFamiliar with Fiber optic communications: single vs multimode, Course Wave Division Multiplexing (CWDM), power considerationsFamiliar with various video standards (NTSC, RGB, VGA, Component, DVI, HDMI, SDI, SMPTE-2110, Streaming video compression)Ability to obtain/maintain Secret level clearanceDesired Skills:Experience working to Mil standard requirementsExperience designing equipment for Naval applicationsExperience understanding the implications of andsolutions for electromagnetic interference (EMI) on the electrical designExperience reverse engineering legacy designsExperience developing circuit Cards, embedded processors and reviewing schematicsExperience working in an Agile environment and ability to manage & prioritize multiple tasks.Familiarity with motors for power and feedbackExperience with various video standards (NTSC, RGB, VGA, Component, DVI, HDMI, SDI, SMPTE-2110, Streaming video compression)Experience with selecting Fiber optic components and solutions (evaluation of power, light budgets, SFPs)Knowledge of Synchro interfaceBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:job.QualificationsLockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
