Talent Brand Content Strategist, Principal Associate

You deeply understand the impact great storytelling can have on an audience. It's your thing. You use data and research to shape content experiences, and you're a stickler for adhering to a consistent brand philosophy. You understand how words spur conversation, interaction and action, whether in social channels or on a website. And you're looking for a new role where you can use your writing to be part of something bigger - to help others!

As the content strategist on our Talent Brand & Marketing team, you'll help craft powerful messages that position Capital One as an employer of choice and help candidates understand #LifeatCapitalOne. A combination of creativity, strategy, and optimization will help create a robust and compelling talent brand story that our candidates won't be able to resist. You'll create the guidelines that inform our approach to long-form, blog-style content, social media copy, content for our Careers website, and key marketing campaigns. You'll develop story arcs, messaging themes, and help bring our talent brand narrative to life. You'll enable the delivery of our content strategy, eagerly lean-in to guide the sourcing of the most compelling stories that align to our messaging priorities and support our evolving content needs.

What we're looking for:
  • A storyteller who sees data as an incredibly powerful tool for connecting people with performance, and who can provide strategic recommendations and tactical insights by connecting seemingly disparate data points
  • A strategic partner who helps shape marketing campaigns and our consistent talent brand presence by crafting powerful messages that position Capital One as an employer of choice and help candidates understand #LifeatCapitalOne
  • A skilled practitioner who uses data and storytelling to influence decisioning, providing thought leadership on measurement strategies, sharing best practices, and delivering insightful recommendations that drive marketing effectiveness and promote our talent brand
  • An impact consultant and champion who prepares and presents findings across the organization

You'll love your job the most if you:
  • Have a positive yet practical attitude - if we called your colleagues, they'd gush over how much they love working with you
  • Have a clear understanding of brand building and the power of messaging to influence candidates
  • Work quickly without compromising quality, knowing that iteration and testing are just part of creating exceptional experiences
  • Take initiative, aren't afraid to fail, ask thoughtful questions, and constantly seek better ways of working and communicating

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in Brand, Marketing, OR Human Resources
  • At least 3 years of content strategy development experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in brand and marketing-type roles
  • At least 1 year ofexperience in financial services or other highly regulated industry
  • Experience developing journalistic writing and writing for SEO
  • Experience managing comprehensive content and editorial calendars and programs
  • Demonstrated success crafting stories and publishing content in a variety of formats across a range of channels that have made a cultural impact.
  • Keen understanding of effective content channels across the brand & marketing ecosystem
  • Has a passion for brand storytelling and keeping up with the latest in the media and digital content space
  • Proven portfolio of multi-channel content creation and content strategies that have driven measurable results
  • Ability to pivot quickly between tasks and adapt to shifting priorities and deadlines
  • Expert copywriting, extensive knowledge of the AP style guide, and creative editing skills
