Duties

Reads food order slips or receives verbal instructions as to food required by patron, and prepares and cooks food according to
instructions. Performs a full range of simple cooking tasks by preparing and cooking items that require little or no processing such as pancakes, sausage, eggs, and fresh or canned vegetables. Prepares hot cereals, broiled meats; prepares and cooks concentrated or dehydrated soups, sauces, and gravies; makes cold sandwich fillings. Prepares convenience items such as frozen hash browns, fish fillets and chicken nuggets. Prepare foods such as burgers, sandwiches and wraps, and specialty food items, following specific
methods that usually require short preparation time. Prepares and serves beverages, to include coffee and fountain drinks, and
occasionally simple alcoholic beverages. Monitors and verifies that prepared food meets standards and requirements for quality and quantity.

Prepares food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring or breading; weighs, measures and assembles ingredients for regular menu items; portions foods for distribution and meal service, and covers, dates and
stores leftovers according to established procedures. Washes and cleans prep areas, cooking surfaces, kitchen equipment and utensils and all work areas.

Performs duties in either the Eaglewood Golf Course Snack Bar operation utilizing large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, or griddles. May also perform duties on a BBQ grill on the course. If assigned to the BBQ grill, required to assemble and, utilizing a Golf Cart, transport food and other items from Club House to grill area and back again.

Assists with receiving, accountability and storage of incoming inventory. Stocks work stations.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate or complete a Food Handler's Training.
  • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, bend and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience in and knowledge of methods and procedures relating to food preparation and presentation gained in a grill, snack bar, restaurant, club or similar food activity. Ability to follow oral and written instructions, work safely, and do simple arithmetic. Knowledge of operating and cleaning food service equipment, characteristics of various foods, and the ability to season food and decide when foods are done is required. Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Must be able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training. Must satisfactorily complete all required security investigations.

  • According to Executive Order 14043, "Guidance on Applying Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination Requirements to New Hires": New Department of the Air Force civilian employees must be fully vaccinated by their entry on duty (start) date or November 22, 2021, whichever is later.
