Duties

Portfolio Management Division ("PMD") is responsible for project monitoring, which includes compliance review, disbursements, ongoing monitoring, restructuring, workouts, and ultimate collection of DFC's finance portfolio. PMD also coordinates project advocacy with U.S. and local governments as necessary. PMD may work with third-party lenders and non-DFC service providers to provide sound credit and administrative procedures and performance, and provides credit approvals for outside collection servicers. PMD supports the Non-Honoring of Sovereign Guarantee Product in Insurance and has supported Investment Funds when requested. Interns serve as junior financial analysts and will be involved in all stages of monitoring a portfolio of corporate and project finance loans as part of a Project Team.

Interns may spread and review financial statements, analyze models of projected project cash flows, research various policy issues, prepare country economic and political risk analyses, prepare credit reviews of outstanding loans and work with PMD Officers in their review and monitoring of problem accounts.

  • Must be suitable for Federal employment, determined by background investigation
  • Selective Service registration required for male applicants, unless exempt
  • Must be currently enrolled or have been accepted for enrollment (at least part-time) in an accredited college or university
  • Required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and submit documentation of proof of vaccination or request a legally required exception from this requirement.


Qualifications

Applicants must be United States citizens actively enrolled at least part-time in an accredited college or university seeking a degree in finance, Economics or International Business, or pursuing a master's degree. Must be in good academic standing. Finance and Financial Analysis experience preferred.
