Mid-Level Audit/Accounting/Finance Specialist Responsibilities: Perform internal control testing; evaluate controls, and develop/document/implement emergent corrective actions Review and recommend revision to existing process documentation Perform substantive testing on personal property; document and implement emergent corrective actions; schedule, conduct follow-up, and close all personal property outstanding actions Perform valuation of assets deficient of original source funding and supporting documentation Track project deadlines and follow-up for timely completion Job Requirements & Skills: Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance or similar discipline Must be a US citizen and able to pass a government background investigation At least five years of audit, accounting, or financial management advisory services experience (preferably experience in support of DoD or federal agencies) Firm understanding of DoD Financial Management and Accounting principles Knowledge of DoD Federal Information Systems Controls Audit Manual (FISCAM) and familiarity with DFAS 7900.4-M, Financial Systems Requirement Manual (Blue Book) and SSAE16 CPA, CISA, and/or CISSP certification (preferred) Familiarity with Accounting Conformance Skilled in auditing, audit readiness, IT systems controls, program segment testing, and other accounting relevant accounting Strong organizational and analytic skills; must be mission focused and able to multi-task DoD experience as a military service member, civil servant, or defense contractor a plus Physical Requirements: The physical demands described herein are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Employees must possess the ability to work in a standard office or conference room setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer. To visit other company sites, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle and fly in an aircraft, both of which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time. Employees must possess vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas will be required. This position requires an employee to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance; reach, push, and pull drawers and doors open and closed. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. As required by Presidential Executive Order 14043 on September 9, 2021, all employees who are hired by a federal government contractor must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, except when vaccination is not medically advised or violates sincerely held religious beliefs.
