We are seeking a dynamic, independent Human Resources (HR) Business Partner to join the Physician Services and Ambulatory Sites of Care HR department. As an HR Business Partner, you will support Inova's more than 650 employed physicians located across our network of 125+ hospitals and outpatient facilities across Northern Virginia. As an Inova HR team member, this person must demonstrate a commitment to our Mission, Vision and Values. This position will require 80% travel to our 125+ hospital and outpatient sites. As a HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service through strategic partnerships with senior leaders on business decisions related to Inova Health Systems HR strategy. To help achieve our mission, you will partner with executive/management team members while providing team member relations, compensation, talent and organizational development support. Your ability to provide feedback to managers to improve individual/team performance is of vital importance. Developing strategies to address performance related issues and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and relevant laws is expected. Reviewing and recommending compensation strategies within the organizations philosophies and strategies for new hires, promotions, transfers and equity/merit adjustments is required. This role is based in Northern Virginia and requires 80% travel to our 125+ outpatient and hospital facilities in Northern Virginia is required. Job Responsibilities * Provides proactive partnerships and consultations to Executives and Managers in alignment with their strategic directions and goals. * Provides consultation to Management on employee relations, EEO, and other job-related issues. Initiates interventions and provides advice and counseling to reach resolution of issues. * Serves as lead HRBP as it relates to Leadership development, complex employee relations, employment law, strategic planning, compensation and change management. * Support program efforts, partners in organization assessments and planning, supports training initiatives, handles employee relations matters, and assists in the talent and performance management process. * Partners with employees and leaders to facilitate effective performance management process and the execution of performance reviews, development plans and performance improvement plans. * Engages with the workforce and leadership to develop talent strategies, succession planning, analyze performance management trends and identify, develop, and/or conduct applicable training opportunities. * Identifies emerging talent, mentor and development opportunities. * Partners with management/executives to analyze and address the talent gaps, assess current workforce capabilities and model future workforce needs against program opportunities. * Demonstrates strong presentation, development and execution skills. Comfort and capability in presenting in small or mid-sized groups and leading cross-functional teams. * Ensures compliance with organizational policies and relevant laws. * Stays current of all regulatory and legislative issues that directly affect Inova. * Understands, articulates and is a proponent of Inova policies and practices. * Provides consultation to HRBPs as it relates to regulatory and legislative components of complex employee relation issues and escalates appropriately to HRD. * Provides exceptional service through partnership with senior leaders on business decisions related to Inovas strategic human capital management needs. * Effectively support program efforts, partners in organization assessments and planning, supports training initiatives, handles employee relations, and assists in the talent and performance management process. * Supports new business development efforts by engaging with clients in organization design, team chartering, training & retention plans, and develop integration and/or transition strategies; works with recruiting to identify key personnel and strategies needed to support new business efforts. * Reviews and recommends compensation strategies within the organizations philosophies and strategies for new hires, promotions, transfers and equity/merit adjustments. * Understands and articulates Inova Compensation policies. * Works with Compensation Consultants in order to address more complex compensation issues. * Serves as a liaison between Compensation and Management in day to day Compensation work and larger projects. The HR Business Partner is responsible for providing exceptional service through strategic partnership with senior leaders on business decisions related to Inovas human resources strategy. * Ensures compliance to company policies/procedures and employment law (communication of changes, updates, point of reference for interpretations and enforcement). Influences and engages in strategic level discussions. * Supports all Human Resource related activity for the assigned client areas and partner with the other members of the HR staff to champion the Human Resources initiatives. * Serves as trusted advisor and counsel for all human resources programs and activities including employee relations, compensation, performance management, policies and procedures, talent acquisition, organizational communications, reporting (including trends and analysis) and any special projects as assigned. * Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues in union and non-union environments, change management efforts and increasing operational excellence. * Establish and maintain positive, effective relationships with leaders and employees at all levels. * Successfully prioritizes and resolves HR related issues to ensure consistent internal and external customer satisfaction. * Coordinates implementation of services, policies and programs through HR staff and other internal resources. * Develop and deliver leadership training to curriculum on performance improvement, standards of behavior, coaching and counseling difficult employee relations issues and change management. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree required. * Minimum three years of Human Resource or relevant business and exempt level experience; experience working through complex Employee Relations issues and strategic partnerships with leaders. * Prior hospital of health system experience preferred, yet not required. * Ability to work collaboratively across organizations and to be seen as a business leader and consultant. * Ability to lead change management efforts and increase operational excellence * Proven record of meeting deadlines, being proactive and demonstrating critical thinking skills. * Ability to travel to various sites within Northern Virginia. * Ability to develop an effective and comprehensive planusing analytical skills to assess/address situations.
