GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Commercial General Contractor is seeking experienced Hospitality Renovation Assistant Project Manager for fast-track projects. The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting Project Managers and Superintendents in coordinating the activities of all phases and aspects of a project from start to finish. Some nationwide travel is expected in this position. ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain project documents/ reports (ie RFI, Submittal, Drawings). Materials tracking and updates. Generate purchase orders and coordinate PM review/ approval. Assist with schedule tracking and updates. Distribution of project documents as required. All essential roles and responsibilities are performed from the main office with occasional to frequent onsite jobsite visits nationwide. REQUIRED SKILLS: Strong ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize. Great attention to detail. Good communication skills. REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college and one to two years related construction experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in construction field. Basic understanding of architectural design drawings. Solid understanding/proficiency with MS Excel, email and other software (Procore) used in the construction industry. PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelor`s degree. REQUIRED ATTITUDE: Must be able to adapt and work well in team environment. Willing to take on new responsibilities and be held accountable for results. REQUIRED RESULTS: Completion of assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner. Improved team collaboration. Knowledge of construction documents (ie drawings, schedule, RFI, submittal). REQUIRED COGNITIVE SKILLS: Working memory, sustained attention, response inhibition, and critical thinking. REQUIRED HABITS: Organized, time management, continued evaluation of assigned tasks with efforts to improve, and follows procedures. The Employee in this position needs to regularly move about (stand/walk) inside an office and a construction site while wearing PPE (eg, hard hat, glasses, boots) when required. There can be prolonged stationary period at a desk. The ability to convey accurate information and converse effectively in-person, over the phone and through email. Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally. The position is also subject to travel using your own vehicle to nationwide job sites, and/or by airplane or train. SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE: This person should be effective in providing support to the Project Manager(s) throughout various aspects of a project. Improved understanding of constructability, proper sequencing of work, means and methods, and promptly taking necessary steps to assist in resolving issues. Frequent interaction with various project team members over a wide range of topics, timely responses while maintaining HR Construction's core values and goals. Support Project Manager to ensure budget is updated, preparation / issuance of timely billing, and vendor / subcontractor billing review. Maintaining project documentation requirements. Attend and assist with weekly owner progress meetings, including distribution of meeting related documents, and detailed note taking. Preparing draft subcontract or vendor procurement documents .Improved understanding of design documents and interpretation. Participation in budget setup and tracking. Assuming lead role on key project tasks as determined with the Project Manager. Demonstration of successfully completing assigned project tasks.
