JLAN Solutions is currently seeking an experienced Computer Specialist acting as a support position with our government client. Successful applicants will be expected to provide quality support to our clients for a variety of technical issues. In accordance with Federal guidance, all newly hired full-time and part-time employees of JLAN Solutions are required to be fully vaccinated by date of hire (fully vaccinated is defined as two weeks since your final dose). Key Responsibilities: Modify Hardware Software (Windows and Mac operating systems) Network connectivity Peripheral compatibility Execute Patch Management procedures: Review vulnerability scans Test software and OS patches released by manufacturers Build and/or provision patches using LANDesk or other methods Deploy patches and software updates Locate and mitigate systems not patched/updated by automated methods Resolve network access issues including: Domain accounts, CAC authentication, Network access Resource permissions and manage Data Storage Discuss data storage solutions Backup and restore user data Maintain Workstations: Encrypt laptops using McAfee ePO and BitLocker Develop Procedures: Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) Develop methods and procedures to improve efficiency in operations Collaborate with staff to re-create issues and analyze workflows to circumvent future problems Perform workstation audits to document hardware and software information Update database records Schedule and administer webinars Establish video conference connections Assist users with conference room technology (Google Hangout Meet and WebEx) Provide technical information to end users Enter, assign, and escalate Help Desk tickets on a daily basic Follow up with customers to ensure needs are met Requirements: BS is Computer Science or related field. MS Certification 4-6 Years' experience in relevant professional position Ability to shift between projects/tasks to keep up with workload. Ability to prioritize issues and users, escalating when necessary Strong communication/people skills Highly self-motivated and directed, with attention to detail.
