Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or six (6) months to one year of dining room host/hostess experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Summary of Responsibilities: This position is to assist the Dining Room Supervisors and manager in checking in Residents and seating them. Additional may duties include administrative and clerical support. Maintains waiting list of guests and available tables; seats guests accordingly. Greet and interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner. Seat all guests in a timely and courteous fashion and clear extra settings if not needed. Answer telephone and take reservations using professional language. Keeps work area/podium clean and organized. Wipes down menus at the end of each shift and replaces if wrinkled or soiled. Communicates with kitchen and servers to ensure steady flow of dining guests. Scans resident's identification meal card for meal entry and ensures payment of meal is processed using Resident Choice. Maintains daily tally sheet of all resident and guest meals for each meal period. Creates cleaning sections and checklist for servers and reports completion to manager. Creates and maintains an inventory report for the dining room manager and keeps a running tab of all linens, china, glasses, napkins, and silverware. Completes daily set up procedures for dining room to include table, chair, linen, cutlery, glasses and place settings. Ensures all tables and chairs are set according to Dining Room manager standards. Assists with buffet and tray set up of dining room and ensures all utensils, holders, etc. are available and ready for use. Retrieves tables and chairs from Dining Room storage with the assistance of other servers to use during Dining Room set up. Takes excess tables and chairs back to Dining Room storage for use at later time. Begins shift by checking assigned tables to ensure all tables are set up and ready for meal time. Performs clerical functions for Administration as well as other general office duties as assigned
