Applied Research Associates, Inc (ARA) Analytical Solution Division has an outstanding opportunity available for a Software Developer to support one of our contracts at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. This position requires you to be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. The successful applicant will work in direct support of the Army Futures Command providing development and maintenance for their Graphical User Interface (GUI) to their Modeling and Simulation (M) software suite. This requires someone with expertise in GUI development.. Required Skills: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering (interdisciplinary), Science, Mathematics, operations Research, or a related field. 5-7 years work experience. Expertise in GUI development. Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) processes. Ability to work independently, including setting and achieving interim milestones that support higher task objectives. Candidate must possess or be able to obtain a current/active DoD Secret Security Clearance. Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment to provide engineering and analysis support to the customer as it pertains to their suite of software modeling codes and tools. Preferred Skills: Ability to work with customers and analysts to understand and develop software requirements. Experience with NetBeans RCP. Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced schedule/deadline-based environment. Strong spoken and written communication skills. Research and implement state-of-the-art software development capabilities from government and industry. Ability to analyze software code, risks and reliability. Ability to troubleshoot a variety of technical issues. Experience with Security Technical Implementation Guides and DevSecOps. Experience in computer simulations Tools and languages: NetBeans Rich Client Platform (RCP), Netbeans Integrated Development Environment (IDE), Artifactory, Apache Maven, ANother Tool for Langauge Recognition (ANTLR), GitLab, Java, python, C, C++, computer aided design (CAD) software and/or commercial visualization tools.
