Description:Resident system engineer located in Yokosuka Japan. The job is an on-site resident engineers supporting the JAOS program. The job includes on-site engineering services for JAOS Mobile Shore Systems to ensure site operations readiness for mission requirements and provide overall project engineering and program support. Basic Qualifications: The candidate shall experience in supporting the JAOS program to include: a) Maintaining the reliability, calibration, and operational performance of the systems, b) Engineering assistance associated with repairs, modifications, system tests and checkout of newly installed systems, c) Performing routine, scheduled, and preventative equipment and software maintenance, d) Reviewing maintenance records to determine equipment and design issues that impact the operational availability of the installed systems, e) Troubleshooting and repairing on-site equipment failures and investigating contributing factors to failures, f) Assisting in planning, installation and testing of engineering or field changes or modifications, g) Providing operational and maintenance On-the-Job-Training (OJT) and assistance to personnel, review and develop information necessary to revise technical documentation for the system when deficiency or changes are identified, h) Assisting in tracking and developing requisition requirements of consumables and spare parts and repairable items, and i) Assisting in maintaining and troubleshooting system operations and data export interfaces. Candidate must be proficient in communicating in the Japanese language. In country and out of country travel is required. Durations of travel vary.
