This position is located in Annapolis Maryland SUMMARY: This position requires a licensed plant engineer that is responsible for the operations, maintenance and repair of steam boilers and auxiliary boiler room equipment, chillers and auxiliary chiller room equipment, heating, lighting, ventilating, air conditioning, power refrigeration, building electrical and controls, water treatment, and other mechanical and electrical equipment. This position reports to the Chief Engineer. RESPONSIBILITIES: Supports the daily operation of all mechanical equipment in the physical plant and building structure Maintains and repairs building Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Structural, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems Monitors operations and maintains refrigeration, water cooling and air conditioning equipment, boilers, heating, ventilating and hot water equipment, pumps, valves, piping and filters, other mechanical and electrical equipment, changing light bulbs and ballasts Ability to troubleshoot Building Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems with little or no supervision Performs and/or completes all service requests accurately and with minimal disruptions Maintains maintenance logs and records Performs preventative maintenance tasks Complies and supports building policies and procedures Actively participates in emergency response procedures, technical and safety training programs Performs all work using the proper safety equipment and in a safe manner Oversees service and repair contractors throughout the mechanical plant Monitors construction projects within the mechanical plant Other duties as assigned PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS:* Follows all safety procedures* No preventable building operational downtime* Follows maintenance and testing routine* Solid Observational Impression of building and mechanical roomsEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: - 10+ years of experience maintaining equipment and systems in commercial or government buildings- High school diploma or GED.
