About the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR)
FAIR is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that supports secure borders and lower overall levels of immigration for the purpose of enhancing job opportunities for Americans, ensuring a sustainable environment and heightening national security.
Primary Objective: The Director of Advancement oversees the planning and execution of all components of fundraising and donor relations including digital marketing/online fundraising and content creation, grant writing, major donor relations and direct mail.
Major Responsibilities:
- Develop revenue projections and monitor revenue to budget goals
- Identify and cultivate major donors
- Management of direct mail and online fundraising programs
- Identify major giving prospects and create persuasive funding appeals
- Oversee FAIR’s digital communications and marketing program
- Work directly with the President to understand organizational messaging
Experience/Qualifications
The ideal candidate possesses:
- Minimum 8 years of non-profit experience with a history of progressive achievement and advancement in a similar role
- Bachelor’s degree required
- An advanced degree a plus
- Law school-preferred
- Immigration experience- preferred
- Excellent research, writing, editing, proofreading and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail required
- Strong data and analytical skills including the ability to present complex data in terms non-specialized audiences can understand

- Exceptional interpersonal skills around consensus building
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to think creatively and strategically
- Superior project management skills
- Ability to travel and speak in front of groups
- Experience with fundraising databases a plus
Salary range $130,000-$165,000 with signing bonus after 3 months.
This position is located at FAIR's headquarters in Washington, D.C. It is a full-time, exempt position. FAIR offers generous benefits; salary is commensurate with experience.
