Duties

  • Plan, implement, manage, evaluate IT support projects and their associated requirements and risk.
  • Apply system architecture principles to develop and manage technical requirements.
  • Coordinates project management to ensure software suitability and supportability.
  • Recommend design and implementation of new requirements and modifications to existing software.
  • Develop secure software according to software deployment methods, tools and practices.
  • Provide IT advice to customers who manage the development, production, and sustainment of enterprise systems.
  • Participate in system software and database management issues.
  • Manage reports or contractual documents for distribution.
  • Provide advice and/or participate in the development of IT policies and procedures.
  • Promotes environment of cooperation and teamwork.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. I have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below based on the grade level required of the position being filled: 1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

AND In addition to the competencies:

One year of specialized experience which includes:1) Provide expert IT software management support for virtualized Linux systems. 2) Implementation of software system requirements using Software Orchestration and Automation Tools. AND 3) Provide IT technical guidance on complex software system implementations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-02.

Education can not be substituted for experience.

Selectees must meet the position requirements for certification at Level III in Information Technology within 24 months of entrance on duty. Due to the impact of the Coronavirus, individuals with entrance of duty dates prior to April 1, 2021 will have an additional 12 months to meet the certification requirements, up to a total of 36 months.
