Description Robert Half is looking for a Benefits Specialist to join a well-known firm in Baltimore, MD. SUMMARY: The Benefits Specialist will act as the main point of contact for employees in areas of benefits and 401k/retirement plan administration while working closely with HR, Payroll, and Finance departments. RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as the primary contact for the firm'Microsoft employee retirement plan program. Calculate retirement service dates for rehires and maintain all employee information in HRIS system. Prepare, process, and review weekly/monthly reports to submit to the Retirement Plan Trustee and/or to the Payroll department for any changes. Manage the beneficiary designation process and default participant loans on a quarterly basis. Audit records on a monthly basis and assist with annual retirement plan audits. Assist with sending out required annual notifications to participants. Ensure employees and retirees are knowledgeable of all benefit plans, programs, and policies. Manage benefit and 401k/retirement plan related questions, inquiries, or issues ensuring to communicate any updates/changes and research/resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Assist with the open enrollment process and administer employee health, welfare, and retirement programs. Perform other tasks as assigned. Requirements 3+ years of benefits administration or 401k/retirement plan administration experience supporting 2,000 employees or higher. Working knowledge of ERISA and IRS regulations preferred. Bachelor'Microsoft Degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or related field is preferred. Strong technical skills and HRIS administration/management experience; Experience using PeopleSoft or Workday software is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of an organization while building trusting relationships and coming across as approachable. Strategic with a strong business acumen, sense of professionalism, integrity, and level of confidentiality. Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and level of accuracy. Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize competing tasks to meet time sensitive deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Resourceful, proactive, and self-motivated with a team player mentality and positive attitude. Adaptable with the ability to operate independently or in a team environment with a strong sense of urgency. Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, drive solutions, and effectively problem-solve. Must be vaccinated or willing to get vaccinated by start date.
