Tracking Code SPVA-21-1619-F Job Code 21-1619 Posting Title Human Resources Generalist Post Date 11/10/2021 Full Time / Part-Time Full Time Travel Negligible City Springfield State VA Country US Description HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST (SPVA-21-1619-F) Bowhead seeks a Human Resources Generalist that is a detailed orientated, self-starter and able to accomplish expected task with minimal supervision. This position will oversee and assist with the onboarding and employee maintenance process. The HR generalist position will supervise three Human Resources Assistants and may support various Human Resources projects. *Position is currently in 100% telework status; will likely become a hybrid telework/in office position Q1 2022. Commutable distance to Springfield, VA office is preferred. Essential functions will include: * Supervise and serve as an escalation for the Human Resources Assistants * Maintaining and generate reports pertaining to employment actions and legal compliance as needed * Lead internal and other regulatory audit or subpoena request * Oversee and process administrative task for onboarding, new hire orientation, and termination notification, including entering data into human capital management system, auditing for accuracy and compliance * Assist HRIS manager as needed with system set up * Partners with other department and program managers to asses, respond and ensure appropriate resolution to issues * Assist with inquiries related to HR processes, triage employee and manager inquiries and escalate when necessary * Identify opportunities to improve onboarding and other onboarding and employee maintenance process to increase efficiencies across the team * Create digital employee files for new employees and maintaining files through the life-cycle of an employee * Respond to unemployment claims, process employment verifications, I-9's and E-Verify * Conduct New Employee Orientation as needed * Other duties as assigned by manager Requirements In accordance with Executive Order 14042: Ensuring Adequate COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Contractors, candidates should be aware that they may be required to have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire. All job offers in connection with a covered contract will be contingent upon providing proof of vaccination prior to your anticipated start date. * A minimum of four years' experience working in Human Resources, Payroll or Recruiting performing complex data entry along with ability to self-audit to ensure accuracy. * Ability to prioritize and work on several tasks/projects at once in a high paced and high volume environment and ability to demonstrate great time management skills. * Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information. * Ability to interact and communicate effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels of the organization, work under pressure and exercise tact and diplomacy. * Requires advanced computer skills in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent human resources experience * Background investigation and motor vehicle record check required. Desired Skills: * Previous experience with UltiPro/UKG preferred. * Knowledge of federal regulations and commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the HR field. * SHRM or HRCI certification * Government Contracting Experience/Service Contract Act Experience SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: There are currently no Security Clearance requirements for this position; however, candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check.
