Maintenance Engineer-RestonCommercial Office PropertyThe Bernstein Companies is an award winning diversified Real Estate Investment and Management firm with a focus on challenging ourselves to execute every day with diligence & passion and developing & empowering our people.We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a proactive and service focused attitude for this newly created Engineer role that will support our commercial office properties in Reston VA and work under the direction of the onsite Building Engineer, and as part of the Reston Property Team . This portfolio includes two adjacently located commercial buildings totaling 140,000 square feet.This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to have a positive impact and grow into an onsite Building Engineer role in future through on the job experience and company supported/sponsored training programs.Responsibilities include:Assist in the preventive maintenance on equipment such as filter changes, lubrication, inspection, and adjustment of belts and pulleys. Check & record readings on various systems such as air handling units, recirculating air systems, water pumping stations, cooling plant, mechanical/boiler room and all plumbing system components.Respond to Tenant Service Calls.Assist in troubleshooting, repair and adjustment of building mechanical systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems, control systems, etc.Assist in maintaining the condition and appearance of the properties.Assist in keeping all vacant spaces & mechanical equipment in ready condition.Perform cleaning functions as needed.Requirements include:4-5 years' experience in a trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, painting, water treatment systems, etc.)High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.Universal CFC Certification required.Knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems.Excellent communication skills and computer skills.Strong customer service focus.ExperiencePreferred4 - 5 years: 4-5 years in a trade
