The Director of Clinical Services will be responsible for supervising the nursing care and ensuring consistencies in the standard of practice across clinical settings. In addition, the Director of Clinical Services will provide Quality Management/Quality Improvement, Risk Management, and Utilization Review as needed.ReportabilityThis position will report directly to the Vice President of NursingThis position will manage/supervise a team of clinic nurse managers as well as other teams as assigned.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.* Collaborate with Vice President of Nursing to develop the nursing teams to support the clinical activities at Mary's Center. Assure staff participation in departmental and Organizational Nursing Structures.* Work with the Vice President of Nursing and interfaces with practice leadership to coordinate the optimal allocation of staff, clinical efficiency and quality, and optimal productivity standards.* Direct personnel actions related to areas of responsibility including, but not limited to hiring, performance management, staff development, disciplinary action, termination, etc. Oversee recruitment and performance management for nursing leaders and their teams, as well as the sonography clinic.* Oversee sonography clinic, including management of staff and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.* Responsible for working with direct report managers in the development, coordination, and supervision of their staff.* Assist with the development and implementation of Patient-Centered Medical Home training for nursing/clinical staff.* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team with the implementation of annual emergency training and emergency preparedness training.* Oversee daily clinical operations through direct reporting of clinic managers.* Support clinic managers as needed.* Provide leadership to teams to develop, execute and monitor QA/QI programming.* Guide Managers and/or Directors to lead their team and establish outcomes in coordination with overall organizational goals.* Participate in grant writing and budget development for programs related to clinical services.* Coordinate with Outcomes and Quality Manager to produce reports as needed to meet organizational outcomes and clinical standards of care.* Maintain survey/grant compliance that pertains to clinical operations, including the development of reports.* Coordinate the resource needs for areas of responsibility, including assisting in annual budget preparation, reviewing, and approving budgetary recommendations, and analyzing variances of budgeted revenues and expenses for areas of responsibility.* Assist with Risk Management implementation as needed.* Assist with the development and implementation of clinical and organizational policies and procedures.* Develop and oversee policies, procedures, and protocols pertaining to clinical services department.* Foster good working relationship and integration with other departments within organization.* Develop and communicate vision for care delivery models and facilitate ongoing refinement of such models.* Ensure safe environment of care for all staff, participant, and families.* Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, staff competence, and licensure and continuing education requirements.* Serve on committees as designated by the Vice President of Nursing* Assist in the planning of new health services in different jurisdictions partnering with the Vice President of Nursing and other staff to bring services to Mary's Center.* Assist the Vice President of Nursing with production of reports requested by the President/CEO and other vice presidents, directors, and managers.* In collaboration with others in administrative leadership, develop strategic and operational plan for clinical areas. Communicate plans and continuously evaluate plans.* Serve on committees and task forces to address participant and community health issues and represent the needs and goals of Mary's Center on external committees.* Act as a community liaison and advocate for Mary's Center providing information, expert testimony, and collaboration with other organizations on a regular basis* Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.QualificationsThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and/or Experience - Requires BSN degree (MSN and/or MPH preferred) and must be licensed to practice nursing in the District of Columbia and Maryland. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a combination of nursing and operational leadership/management skills. Must have clinical management knowledge, data analysis, conflict resolution, and good writing skills. Advanced skills in MS Excel and excellent presentation and communication skills are essential. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.Physical Demands - Regularly required to sit; frequently required to reach with hands and arms, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear; must be able to lift objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds.Work Environment - Mostly in a typical office and/or home setting with quiet to moderate noise level. May be exposed to extreme cold, heat, and humidity due to outside weather conditions. Opportunity to work a hybrid schedule - remotely & onsite, as needed.
