Concentric Methods is seeking an experienced Patient Coordinator. The Patient Coordinator will independently provide support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the National Institutes of Health. The primary objective is to provide services and deliverables through performance of support services.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesCoordinate patient schedules with testers, nurses, physicians and clinical research coordinators.Coordinate the recruitment, scheduling, travel and admission of research study participants with clinical staffWork with staff to coordinate new research patient screening appointments, procedures and imaging studies between protocol investigators and the outpatient clinic scheduling personnelCoordinate scheduling, travel and lodging of subjects participating in studiesTriage questions to appropriate personnel in the team as necessaryMaintain ongoing relationships with patients, families, caregivers, medical care providers and various individuals on a continuous long-term basisRespond to patient emails and phone calls; prioritize patient related issues into urgent, emergent and routine; triage the issues to the appropriate personnel in the team as necessaryCommunicate all patient protocols to patients, within the context of eligibility criteria for specific protocol; obtain appropriate consent formsServe as point of contact for questions, advice and communications on the process and status of protocols; initiate and respond to correspondence and telephone contacts pertaining to admission of patientsExplain the purpose of the study to potential participants; assess eligibility to participate; enroll eligible study participants and explain the research procedures; respond to routine questions on study procedures and seek additional information when neededCollates, enters and maintains data collected on participants.Coordinates new patient referrals by obtaining pertinent information and forwarding it for review.May assist in preparing credentialing packages.Monitor workflow and administers and revises processes to maintain and improve operations.Mentors and trains staff on patient recruitment and coordination processes and procedures.Travel Requirements0 - 10%Salary GradeJob RequirementsEducation and/or ExperienceAssociate's degree or HS diploma and 3 years' experience in a related field.Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)Demonstrated basic computer skills including use of MS Office and Excel.Qualifications and RequirementsStrong communication skills, both oral and written.Identify project specific reports and assist in the development of these reportsPrepare, review, and submit clinical data to monitoring agenciesPossess proficiency with clinical databases and report toolsWriting skills, clinical researchPatient/Family educationMust have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.CategoryHealthcareLocationNIH - Bethesda, MD - Rockville, MD 20892 US (Primary)EducationHigh School
