Sidwell Friends, a coeducational Quaker day school, seeks fun and energetic part-time Assistants to work in the Extended Day Program located on its Bethesda, MD campus. Hours for the program will be Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 2:30 - 6:00 pm and Tuesdays from 1:30 - 6:00 pm. Candidates with availability all 5 days will be prioritized; however, we will consider candidates who have availability 3 or more days during the specified time frames.Daily responsibilities for our Assistants:Interact with children to support play, exploration, and learningPlan and implement activities that meet the COVID-19 health and safety protocolsMeet the individual needs of each childParticipate in staff and training meetingsPresent expectations that are appropriate to the child's age and developmental levelCommunicate appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staffBuild teamworkFollow all COVID-19 protocols established by the Sidwell Friends School CommunitySuccessful candidates should be 18 years of age or older, possess a high school diploma and have prior experience working with children. Additional qualifications include effective communication skills, flexibility, patience, a sense of humor, and a demonstrated love for working with young children and their families. Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification is required; however, if you are not CPR/AED certified you will have the opportunity to complete the course upon hire.Successful candidates will need to successfully complete all background checking requirements at the time of hire.As a condition of employment, all employees hired after August 1, 2021 are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and able to provide proof of such vaccination.
