This position will be virtual. Virtual positions may be filled in any US State and selection will be based on the most qualified candidate.The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Engineering Manufacturing Systems and Infrastructure (EMS&I) organization working on research and development networks.The selected candidate will work in a in a distributed team environment where he/she will assist with development of a Python-based (Flask) web application, including developing input forms and back-end logic/processing of collected inputs. Help to develop automation capabilities in a network environment using primarily Ansible, for data collection and automation of network operations processes (eg involving network routers, switches, firewalls etc.). Research and test other automation tools, including determining fitness for a network environment and integration with existing toolset.As an intern, you'll participate in a summer internship program to develop competencies in a variety of software development specializations that may include:Roles and ResponsibilitiesBasic software development experience used to develop applications using Python, JavaScript and other tools based on requirementsUse GitLab for code management including bug tracking, testing and push to productionAbility to research, solve problems and carry out tasks with minimal supervisionCreate and/or update documentation / instructions as directedAbility to work well remotely with a virtual teamBasic QualificationsA candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university AND graduating after August 2021.Be majoring in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related fieldHave an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2021Have US citizenshipPreferred QualificationsHave an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70 out of 4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)Good presentation and writing/communication skills.Self-motivated, willing to learn, and interested in working in a team environment.Web development (HTML, CSS).
