Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.We are seeking a candidate for this position that will work in a lead systems engineering technical role in Dulles, VA supporting development for a next generation ground system in the National Security Systems (NSS) business area. The program is considered a center-of-excellence for ground operations development developing innovative tools to aid operators with planning spacecraft maneuvers and supporting vehicle activities, as well as monitoring the progress and safety of the mission.$15,000.00 sign-on bonus will be available for eligible and qualified candidates.This position may be filled as a mid-level or senior level systems engineer who will be responsible for participating as member of the systems engineering technical team, which includes the following duties: systems analysis and trades, coordinating Vehicle Systems engineering activities, engineering baseline management, interface management, requirements/V&V management, subcontractor technical oversight, CAM/EVMS duties, preparing/presenting SE material at all major reviews and PMR's and interfacing with the customer and SETA's on all space segment technical issues.The responsibilities include both individual-contributor and leadership roles, within a multi-disciplined engineering team. Successful candidate will also be called upon to support other activities, including architecture studies, mission support, and traditional Systems Engineering functions. In this role, the Systems Engineer is expected to be self-directed using previous experience to lead design, analysis and execution efforts. Candidates must be able to recognize and mitigate technical issues and risks while operating within budget and on schedule.Responsibilities:Lead/Provide major support to the entire program technical team.Optimize space vehicle design, processing and mission success.Troubleshoot and develop solutions to complex problems that the program may encounter.Develop, author and/or provide input to major program data products and other deliverables.Technical management of program elementsPlanning and conduct of technical reviews and technical baselineWriting status and technical performance reviews and reportsThe candidate will work with cross-discipline team members and must have excellent verbal and writing communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse community of engineers and managers to achieve the goals of the program team.Basic Qualifications:Must have US Citizenship with a current or active Top Secret level clearance, SCI eligible.BS degree in Engineering, Science or related technical field and at least 5 years of applicable experience, a MS Degree and 3 years of applicable experience, or a PhD Degree and 0 years of applicable experience.Systems engineering experienceThis position can also be hired at the Senior Principal level with a BS Degree and 9 years experience, a MS Degree and 7 years applicable experience or a PhD and 4 years applicable experience.Preferred ExperienceActive or current Top Secret/SCI ClearanceExperience with ground systems/softwareExperience presenting to customersExperience working with a cross-discipline teamCONOPS development for Space Based programsKnowledge of various mission analysis techniques and software toolsExpertise with space and ground product linesSalary Range: 101200 - 151800Salary Range 2: 125500 - 188300Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
