Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing Operations Engineering organization is seeking a Principal/Senior Principal Manufacturing Process Engineer for the Advanced Microelectronics Cell (AMEC). This position focuses on Microelectronics Assembly and Packaging. This cell has a large variety of manufacturing including both low and high volume and mix.The Manufacturing Process Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the tasks outlined below:Process DevelopmentDeveloping new and maintaining or improving existing manufacturing processes with a focus on affordabilityCreating and managing to project plans (tasks, resources, schedules) for process development activitiesProviding ROI justification for process improvementsSpecifying, identifying and procuring new manufacturing equipment for production readiness and preparing equipment for productionDeveloping & optimizing process parametersDeveloping/revising process documentation and work instructionsAssisting with design of custom toolingSupporting manual and highly automated microelectronics machineryFactory SupportMonitoring process yields and cost, recommending and implementing quality improvements based on these metricsCreating, validating and maintaining automatic equipment programsSolving of manufacturing problems (related to materials, designs, equipment, people) in a timely mannerAssisting with the training of new personnel and participating in the design of operator training materialsSupporting factory maintenance personnel with the troubleshooting and repair of process equipmentWorking in cross functional teams to execute RCCAs and lean initiativesInterfacing with equipment vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issuesDesign SupportRecommending product design improvements required to produce advanced microelectronics productsDocumenting state-of-the-art process capabilities and guidelines for product designersParticipating in design producibility reviews for new productsThis position may be filled as a Principal Engineer or a Senior Principal Engineer based on the requirements below.Basic Qualifications for a Principal Engineer:Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering or related STEM degree, with minimum 5 years of professional experience or a Master's Degree in a STEM field and 3 years of professional work experienceFluency in MS Office software applications.Ability to multi-task in fast-paced, dynamic, and high visibility environment and work well as part of a team.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance.US Citizenship is required.Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal Engineer:Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering or related STEM degree, with minimum 9 years of professional experience or a Master's Degree in a STEM field and 7 years of professional work experienceFluency in MS Office software applicationsAbility to multi-task in fast-paced, dynamic, and high visibility environment and work well as part of a team.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance.US Citizenship is required.Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with J-STD, MIL-STD and Space Class hardware requirements.Experience with automated equipment and transport systemsExperience with the design or manufacturing of microelectronics technology and materialsProcess/Manufacturing Engineering experienceSalary Range: 87780 - 131670Salary Range 2: 108864 - 163296Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
