Job Details
Sparks Group in collaboration with its client, a leading Fortune 500 Government contractor, is searching for a proactive Payroll Specialist. The Specialist will be responsible for payroll processing and provide support for staff. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in government contracting, with a strong understanding of comprehensive payroll and T&E experience. Responsibilities:
- Assist the payroll supervisors with timely and accurate payroll processing and providing support when required
- File and maintain employee data files, payroll related documents and records in an orderly manner
- Assist staff with inquiries related to payroll, leave accruals, wage deductions, fringe benefits, and other payroll related issues
- Knowledge of multi-state compliance, including taxation and reciprocity rules
- Export and import data between Payroll Systems; process Expense reimbursements, addressing issues and concerns
- Perform other assigned duties and tasks
Qualifications/Background Profile:
- Position requires U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred but not required
- 2+ years of comprehensive payroll experience in government contracting
- CPP or FPC Certification preferred
- Experience with ADP Vantage preferred
- Experience and knowledge of payroll regulations, compliance and record keeping
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications; intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Prioritize workflow and manage multiple deadlines within required time constraints
- Possess strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to present recommendations to increase the efficiency of the processes
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure on tight deadlines
