ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY: Sr Director, DIB Business Partner

The Sr Director of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (DIB) will serve as the Head of DIB for one of Capital One's business lines and report into the enterprise DIB function. This highly skilled DIB leader will create, develop, execute and manage horizontal initiatives that advance DIB within the business and in partnership with key stakeholders. (People Leadership, Learning & Development, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, and more).

This individual will partner with business and HR leaders, People Analytics, and other key stakeholders to assess opportunities, create DIB strategies and plans, and support execution through coaching, consulting and thought partnership.

This role will work independently with key stakeholders to identify and address client needs in a collaborative approach. This role will serve as a key diversity partner to ensure that DIB remains a priority and is closely linked to the division's overall business strategy. Works with key partners within and outside of the team to execute and bring these strategies to life.

The selected leader will bring intellectual rigor, data and insights, strategically bold ideas, and effective communications to conversations - having a strong point of view and influence on executive mindsets and actions relative to DIB. In addition to leading DIB within their assigned business line, this role will partner closely with Capital One's Head of Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging to build our enterprise DIB capabilities, contribute to program innovation, and to include, inspire, and empower a talented team to deliver on the company's bold DIB agenda, mission and commitments.

Responsibilities:
  • Will lead the development of next-in-class programming and innovative strategies to attract, develop, promote and retain women and underrepresented groups (URG).
  • Build and maintain strategic internal and external partnerships to aid knowledge sharing, recruiting and best practices.
  • Works closely across Human Resources Consultants (HRC), Talent Acquisition and the enterprise DIB teams to assess and build best in class processes and programs to support the diversity strategy and help us to deliver on our DIB aspirations
  • Develop and manage the diversity reporting metrics to analyze accurate interpretation of results
  • Builds adaptable plans that meet the business where it is, but lead it through a thoughtful, intuitive growth journey on DIB.
  • Develop a strong knowledge of Capital One's businesses and strategies providing important linkages with other functional areas that integrate and impact the diversity strategy.
  • Act as strategic advisor and thought partner across Capital One's core and extended DIB community providing bold thought leadership, expert insight, deep expertise and related programming/leadership recommendations.
  • Will provide direct support and set DIB strategy for several senior executives and their organizations requiring frequent communication, ability to influence and counsel leadership at all levels.
  • Proven success in collaborating independently to identify needs and develop innovative and frontier-leading diversity solutions to drive business impact; consulting and influencing skills
  • Must possess strong analytical skills & problem-solving capabilities, and demonstrate ability to weave robust analysis into strategic planning, influencing and problem solving.
  • Proven track record in prioritizing competing priorities
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) skills with a proven ability to influence and drive change
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy, humanity and inspirational and servant leadership that activates, inspires and activates the hearts and minds of others to engage in the work and journey of culture change
  • Collaboration skills including the ability to integrate and act upon diverse perspectives.
  • Ensure compliance to corporate policies and standards.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging leadership capacity
  • At least 10 years of experience in Communication and Influencing


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • At least 10 years experience working within large, fast paced, complex, matrixed organizations
  • At least 7 years of experience in Project Management (planning, executing, tracking)
