Duties

  • Responsible for solving difficult and complex analytical problems.
  • Responsible for intelligence research, analysis, and evaluation, coordination, and liaison duties within a regional or functional area.
  • Supports SOF planning, training, and operations as a liaison officer to a national Intelligence Community member organization.
  • Responsible for the preparation of detailed analysis of all aspects of specialized targets and organizations of interest.
  • Supervise and prepare intelligence estimates, target packages, and intelligence annexes.
  • Senior Intelligence Analyst responsible for 24-hour-a-day continuous All-Source Intelligence support in exercises and deployments.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Must be eligible for, receive, and retain a TOP SECRET/Single Scope Background Investigation (TS/SSBI) with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and selected Special Access Programs.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Pursuant to EO 14043, all Federal employees, regardless of duty location or work arrangement, must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by November 22, 2021, or before entrance on duty if after November 22, subject to exceptions as required by law.
  • If selected, the agency will provide information regarding what documentation is needed and how to request any legally required exceptions from this requirement.

  • This is an emergency essential position that ensures the success of combat operations or supports essential combat systems after a mobilization, evacuation order, or other military crisis.
  • Incumbent may be required to deploy, on very short notice, to potentially high-threat, hostile OCONUS environments and to undergo specific training and immunization requirements as appropriate for OCONUS deployments.
  • Employee must pass a medical examination and receive required immunizations for the overseas/deployed location.
  • Incumbent may be required to perform duties under austere and potentially hazardous conditions during exercise and real-world crisis deployments.
  • Position also requires travel, up to 30% of the time, CONUS and OCONUS as well as frequently extended duty with long hours under high pressure and generally high-rick job responsibilities.
  • Must successfully pass urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter, in accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program
  • This is an Inclement Weather position. Incumbent may be required to remain on duty during inclement weather.
  • Incumbent may need knowledge and proficiency of language needed to communicate and work in the area of operations.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete counter-intelligence scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI).
  • Must be able to comply with all federal agency security and medical requirements in order to obtain Staff-Like Access.
  • Following initial adjudication of access, individual must be able to maintain qualifications for required access in order to perform temporary duty with other government agencies as directed.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as:
  • Experience using All-Source (HUMINT, IMINT, MASINT, and SIGINT) intelligence disciplines to provide technical and operational support. AND
  • Experience using various intelligence data systems, examples: Special Operations Command Research Analysis, Threat Evaluations System (SOCRATES), Special Operations Intelligence System (SOIS). AND
  • Experience with technical, tactical, and operational intelligence requirements, procedures, operational issues, and assessments.
  • This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-13).

    Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled.This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.

    This position is considered essential to support Army's mobilization and wartime mission during periods of increasing tension or mobilization. Position is considered emergency essential because (1) no qualified and immediate replacement exists and (2) having it vacant would (a) impair the effective operation of essential military support systems or (b) adversely impact the combat mission of deployed forces. Failure to remain in this position may result in separation for the efficiency of the Federal Service (5 USC, Ch.752). Incumbent may be required to take part in readiness exercises and training (Basic first aid; Basic soldier field survival skills; Laws of War/Geneva Conventions; Prisoner of War coping skills; Standards of Conduct; Proper wear, use and care of all issued clothing and equipment; Uniform Code of Military Justice; Customs and courtesies of host country; Sidearm training, when appropriate).
