Duties

  • Researches and analyzes open source and classified intelligence reports utilizing sophisticated techniques to ensure all relevant data is reviewed and evaluated. Researches and coordinates raw threat information to provide intelligence analysis.
  • Provides imagery analysis for all mission planning. Determines how and where to obtain the best imagery to support analyses and to transform imagery into usable products to improve situational awareness for deploying MSD teams.
  • Interprets and extrapolates data from satellite imagery, mapping tools, geospatial display software, and geographic information system (GIS) databases. Adapts and exploits existing geospatial technologies to fit the specific needs of MSD agents.
  • Plans and conducts research and development to devise solutions to highly complex, often unprecedented geospatial issues affecting plans and operations. Provides technology development expertise to identify new uses.
  • Develops and projects data, draws conclusions, and estimates probabilities based upon knowledge of current and past intelligence situations and an understanding of the significance of conditions and trends in the areas of specialization.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.
  • Verification of employment eligibility in the United States is required.
  • Obtain/maintain eligibility to access Sensitive Compartmented Information


Qualifications

Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements, including education and any selective placement factors described below by the closing date of this announcement. If you are qualifying based on education OR if there are mandatory education requirements listed below, you MUST submit a copy of your college transcript with your application.

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

-Experience conducting intelligence research to analyze, and interpret intelligence data received from a wide variety of sources.

-Experience planning and conducting geospatial imagery analysis.

-Experience interpreting and extrapolating data from satellite imagery, mapping tools, geospatial display software, and geographic information system (GIS) databases.

There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
