We believe in connecting everyone to endless, priceless possibilities.OverviewAs a User Experience Designer, Design Systems in Mastercard Data and Services (D), you will thrive at the intersection of design, data, and technology. You will have the unique opportunity to shape the identity and form of the constantly evolving Design System for Mastercard's data products. Working across multiple product areas and cross-functional partners, you will drive the strategic implementation of the design system with the goal of ensuring high consistency, scalability, and ease of rapid prototyping while solving the specific user problem at hand. Occasionally, you will also be able to participate in design thinking workshops for new products and contribute to delivering quality design assets. If you have a passion for creating great user experiences, an understanding of component-based architectures, and a desire to be a part of building a world-class design system- that operates at a global scale- then this role is for you!Responsibilities- Help advance the strategic implementation of Mastercard's Design System for data products using user-centered design methods- Partner with other Design System teams across the organization to drive brand alignment and experience unification across products- Collaborate with designers, engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand the unique requirements, opportunities, and constraints in the realm of data products- Design responsive, accessible components and modular design patterns while maintaining up-to-date documentation- Work within brand guidelines to ensure components are using the consistent brand language- Develop easy to follow design specifications and guidelines for other designers, developers, customers, and development partners/vendors- Create robust processes for contribution, design, audit, handoff, and release to empower our users (other designers, developers, and product managers) to contribute back to the Design System- Be the Design System champion who educates and guides designers, developers, and product teams on adopting the Design System- Occasionally, participate in Design Thinking activities with stakeholders and contribute to experience artifacts including personas, journeys, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and design specificationsAll About You- Experience in UX design for digital products from concept to launch- Excellent visual or interaction design skills with technical capabilities in prototyping, frontend technology, and user-centered design methods- A solid foundation in typography, color, iconography, composition, and visual hierarchy- Experience building and maintaining a design system utilizing industry best practices around tokens, components, patterns, etc.- Experience using Figma or Sketch- A bachelor degree or equivalent combination of experience and formal education- Ability to travel which is anticipated to be less than 20%Preferred Qualifications- Passion for Design Systems and data products, including data visualization- Product design experience in the payments, banking, analytics, or FinTech industries- Experience in (and appreciation for) rapid prototyping and Lean UX- Passion for working in a global, highly diverse, multicultural working environmentDue to COVID-19, most of our employees are working from home.
