The Directional Drill Operator position will be responsible for operating equipment in our Underground Utilities Department in Maryland, primarily to support our electrical and gas construction needs, but also to meet the needs of other projects required by our customers. Operates drilling equipment and various other construction equipment Experience drilling in both standard and high-risk areas, such as areas with live utilities Have knowledge of utility depths and placement Possess general knowledge of construction practices and be familiar with equipment Respect the importance of ensuring Company assets (vehicles, equipment, tools, etc.) are properly and continuously maintained in good repair and secured in a safe manner Organization of materials and other resources is necessary to complete excavation requirements, which may include basic hand tools Dig and back-fill trenches by hand and Deliver materials to job sites Locate Utilities; Tracking for driller; Handle and fuse pipe; Change drill bits and tools Assist in the routine maintenance and lubrication of rig equipment and trucks Assist in the inspection of all equipment Drillers Assistant should have an eye for detail and good communication skills Qualifications: Able to lift 100 pounds on a regular basis Drive support vehicles (Class A CDL) Be responsive to instructions Be willing to learn how to fuse pipe, mix and manage drilling fluids, and use the tracking system Able to communicate effectively Work as a team Come and see what makes AUI Power Best in Business!
