Job Description Sign-on/Relocation Bonus Available ENSCO ASE is recruiting senior engineering and support staff supporting the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense, Research and Engineering Branch (OUSD/R&E). We are currently seeking a Senior Engineer (LAND WARFARE) with demonstrated expertise in developing technical solutions to complex and challenging DoD problems. Mature judgement required to interface with external stakeholders and senior government personnel. Position located in the Washington DC/Virginia area. Telecommute work at management descretion. Work to evaluate and secure cutting-edge technology and engineering capabilities to facilitate modernization efforts and support DoD joint warfighting efforts Work with a team of driven, supportive, and highly skilled professionals Experience leading and performing Systems Engineering (SE) tasks including development and analysis of complex engineering and test strategies; technology and risk assessments; performance/capability assessments; and kill chain analysis of complex weapon systems to define capability gaps and assess performance. Interpret requirements and design specifications, analyzes alternatives, and creates a solution, and supports integration and testing, as required. Expert in exercising independent judgment and initiative in solving problems and performing technical tasks having a high degree of complexity. Manages and coordinates the efforts of other staff members assigned to specific projects. Develop advice and recommendations from the OSD perspective and provides feedback on effectiveness of current engineering and test policy and guidance. Insights from this continuous engagement will inform OUSD(R&E)/DTE&A leadership and form the basis of subsequent assessments. Work with acquisition program managers to develop comprehensive engineering and DT&E test strategies to support program milestones and engineering decisions. Work with Chief Engineers, Chief Developmental Testers, and other stakeholders to develop Systems Engineering Plans and T&E Master Plans System-, subsystem- and component-level Systems Engineering Technical Reviews as documented in DoDI 5000.88, including but not limited to, System Requirements Reviews (SRRs), System Function Reviews (SFRs), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs), Functional Configuration Audits, and associated working groups and technical interchange meetings. Provide independent assessments of the adequacy and completeness of technical reviews and assess potential risk identified through participation in the review. Systems Engineering (SE) and Test & Evaluation (T&E) Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) Support. Provide PDR/CDR Assessments and Sufficiency & Performance Assessments Telecommuting available with management discretion Qualifications Required (Skills) Bachelor's degree in a scientific or other applicable technical or analytical discipline Twenty (20) or more years within the specified technical discipline Expert in developing technical solutions to complex and challenging DoD problems. Expert in leading major project technical tasks using formal engineering practices and quality control methods. Experience directly interfacing with government management personnel and is adept at oral and written communication required at all levels of management to maintain control of assigned programs and projects. Experience in program technical activities; monitor engineering and test efforts; establish and maintain effective and efficient communication with Program Management Offices and Component counterparts; and review all program-related documentation available to OSD to maintain cognizance of development planning and program engineering and test activities and results for all assigned programs.
