Join our team at Awakenings, an Amatus Health recovery center, as our Medical Director! The Medical Director is responsible for developing and implementing the facility's medical protocol, supervise all Medical staff and review and countersign all appropriate documentation. What you need: Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing or School of Medicine 2+ years of medical treatment for those with Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health MD, DO, ARNP (PMHNP/FNP/FNP-c), PsyD or similar required. Active DEA License Required Practitioner Waiver Preferred Knowledge of addictions and mental health complications. Knowledge of community health resources that support life improvement in physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health, economic security, employment, positive social and family interdependence and positive cultural identity Ability to network and collaborate with healthcare and other social and cultural agencies that can provide services to the patients and families. What you'll do: Supervise physicians and mid-levels; performing quality assurance activities and ensuring the providers are meeting the organization's expectations. Supervision also includes hiring/terminating, training, and scheduling. Enhance cooperation between Nurses, Physicians and relevant medical/nursing staff. Ensure that the medical staff and facility comply with the federal rules, regulations and codes. Review and countersign all medical and psych documentation. If trainings are identified, promptly work with the providers. Assist with patient education regarding MAT, medications, health, and wellness. Ensure patients are on proper and effective medication regiments and protocols (Inpatient and Outpatient). Interview patients to obtain history, performing physical examination, diagnose, ordering lab and other tests, prescribing medications and treatments. Provide continuity in managed care for patients throughout their treatment episode. Work directly with providers to educate them on our care process and determine what can be done to improve overall care quality. Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient's specific needs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
