Senior Accountant Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered a minority-owned, professional consulting engineering services firm headquartered in Washington, DC, currently has an excellent opportunity for a talented and detail oriented, Senior Accountant. * DHA is seeking Temporary and Full-time Candidates * ‍Candidate should have a proven record of preforming accounting duties at a high level. The Senior Accountant is an integral part of the Finance and Accounting team. ‍The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting a range of accounting processes including project and contract master file maintenance, accounts payables, billing, accounts receivables, general ledger, bank reconciliations, payroll, and month/year-end closings. ‍‍Responsibilities Prepare customer billing and monitor accounts receivable status; Play a key role in the month-end and year-end closing process; Prepare daily and month-end entries including payroll, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accrued liabilities and capital asset amortization; Prepare bank reconciliations, balance sheet accounts and various other general ledger accounts, as needed; Prepare payroll/maintain electronic time sheet module; Assist with annual audits - Financial Statements, Overhead, Workers Comp, DCAA Incurred Costs, and 401(k). Other responsibilities of the department includes but not limited to the following areas: Contract Closeouts Financial and Project Reporting Updating the Finance and Accounting Manual This position will understand the company operations to ensure that all necessary accounting transactions are created and entered in BST Enterprise system on a timely basis. ‍‍Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; or the equivalent of five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience; A solid understanding and working knowledge of government contracting, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and government contract compliance regulations found in the Federal Regulation Requisition (FAR) is required; Proficient with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook); Must have prior billing experience Fast learner and able to "come in the door running"; Preference will be given to candidates with ADP, BST, Deltek, Costpoint, or other enterprise accounting software; Must be able to work well with others in a team environment; Exceptional proficiency and ability to communicate orally and in writing; and Ability to interact with senior management, clients, and outside auditors. ‍ New employees MUST be fully vaccinated prior to their start date. Fully vaccinated means two weeks have passed since the final dose of a primary vaccine series.
