Major Duties:

Serves as Cloud System Administrator, for the Information Technology Directorate, Business and Support Services Division (MR), Headquarters Marine Corps.  Provides technical support with all cloud instances including but not limited to Office 365, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.  Responsibilities include supporting day-to-day administration functions, facilitating onboarding, script creation and cloud automation. 

Maintains and develops standards for best practices in cloud and hybrid environments and reports to IT leadership on cloud system usage, consumption and performance.  Conducts capacity planning and performance analysis.  Provides guidance and feedback on critical cloud initiatives. 

Ensures the application of appropriate security measures to assignments.  Ensures integrity of data by evaluating, implementing and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.  Interprets IT policies, standards and guidelines.  Conducts analyses and recommends resolution of complex issues affecting the specialty area.  Evaluates and recommends new or enhanced improvements to delivery of services.  Identifies and defines technical requirements for development and implementation. 

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.

Performs other related duties as assigned. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or a related field and three years of cloud system administration experience; OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above; OR appropriate experience that demonstrates that the applicant has acquired the knowledge, skills and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above. 

Experience in Microsoft Office 365 and Azure cloud instances with government cloud experience preferred.  Thorough understanding of cloud automation and demonstrated ability to fully automate a cloud environment utilizing scripts or other management tools.  Skill to translate requirements into well-architected, integrated Cloud solutions.   

As an authorized and privileged user of Department of Defense Information Systems must possess or receive Information Assurance awareness by completing the Security+ Certification as a condition of access within six months of employment, and thereafter must complete annual Information Assurance awareness training.

This position had been determined as Non-critical Sensitive.  As a condition of employment, the incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain an Access National Agency Check and Inquiries (ANACI/ Tier 3) Secret Clearance to access classified information.

Eligible for incremental telework as determined by MR/MF policy.
