Start your career with Ryder today! SUMMARY - This Sales Finance Consultant will be a subject matter expert and business partner to the Fleet Management Services (FMS) sales team. The incumbent will be responsible for independently performing in-depth financial analysis from both internal and external financial resources and lead the financial elements of "ownership market" sales pursuits (prospects) as well as existing customers to support growth and retention. The individual will take the lead in financial discussions with business owners and finance leaders (CEO, CFO, Controller, etc ) around Ryder's TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) analysis and positioning. This requires the incumbent to develop cost effective analysis based on the customer's requirements and while supporting Ryder's Value Proposition. The Sales Finance Consultant will leverage their financial expertise and provide the sales team with insight on industry based financial matters and discovery on specific target prospects in order to increase and ensure profitable sales opportunities. The Sales Finance Consultant will lead and support Ryder's salesforce with identifying and preparing cost effective product and service offerings. Responsibilities will also include providing consultative services and training to other sales members within the region of responsibility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Primary responsibility will involve quantitative financial analyses to support future looking cost projections and risk assessments. Independently perform in-depth financial analysis from both internal and external financial resources. Will lead the sales teams on all opportunities where TCO process is deployed. Present the financial benefits of Ryder's solutions to key prospect/customer decision makers. Provide consultative services to entire regional sales team on the TCO process and related topics. In conjunction with Learning and Development (L&D) drive training on TCO to the salesforce across the region. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Business, or Sales. Master's degree MBA preferred. EXPERIENCE Eight (8) years or more of Finance experience - some Sales experience desired. Experience working in a dynamic financial consulting / analysis environment. SKILLS Excellent analytical skills and methodical problem-solving skills. Solid understanding and ability to analyze Profit and Loss (P&L), Income Statements, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow analysis. Strong knowledge of and ability to explain the financial/accounting/tax impact of business decisions to both finance and non-finance buyers. Solid ability to effectively articulate the financial elements of Ryder's cost of ownership analysis in order to provide sound, profitable, and cost effective recommendations. Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills. Present information and ideas clearly and understandably. Ability to work independently and as a member of the team. Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization. Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast paced environment. Highly organized with excellent time management skills. Detail oriented with excellent follow up practices. Excellent influencing, persuading, and negotiating skills. Ability to guide, engage and impart knowledge to others. KNOWLEDGE In-depth knowledge of finance and financial concepts. Preferred understanding of sales process and positioning. Demonstrated financial and mathematical competence with a strong understanding of key accounting concepts: revenue, variable expense and depreciation/interest and how these relate to and impact equipment pricing and sales. Advanced level knowledge in MS Excel such as working with formulas, data tables, pivot charts, queries, custom functions, data management and analysis. Advanced level knowledge in MS Power Point such as inserting charts, graphs & tables, customizing slide shows with hyperlinks, drawing and working with objects, speaker notes, meeting notes and advanced presentation features. Knowledge of pricing, financial analysis, and risk assessment.
