JOB PURPOSE: The Vice President of Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for both leading and supporting the overall finance initiatives of the Company. This position will have a heavy focus on the financial oversight of the Company s land investments, including monitoring of all land/lot purchases and land development budgets/commitments. The position will also have a key role in the financial management on the Company s Fee Build & Joint Venture initiatives. There will be the opportunity to prepare Company- wide financial analysis of various facets of the business and work with the Company s Senior Executive s on special investment projects. Duties and Responsibilities Provide financial oversight of the Company s land investments, including: Lead development and implementation of Company-wide land inventory financial review process, including attendance at all Divisional Land Development budget review meetings Lead development and implementation of land commitment tracking process in NewStar. Maintain and/or review all land development reconciliations and cost allocations. Schedule, track, and monitor lot purchases including price escalators. Reconcile and track outstanding Letters of Credit and development bonds. In conjunction with SVP of Finance, review all Company financial proformas for both raw land and finished lot purchases prior to their presentation to Land Acquisition Committee for approval Be heavily involved in the ongoing development, review and use of Oracle forecast tool for the Company s financial projections. Provide financial oversight of Company s Fee Build & Build for Rent projects Provide financial oversight of Company s strategic Joint Venture initiatives In conjunction with SVP of Finance, prepare strategic analysis of various facets of company s business and review all significant financial analysis prepared by the Divisional Finance team and ensure that is accurately presents the financial picture needed for the Executive Team to make all strategic financials decisions of the Company Provide hands-on financial management support for any division operation during finance staffing transitions as well as for any start- up operation which does not have a dedicated finance staff Assist Senior Executive team on special investment projects, as needed QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge and Skills Experienced Home Building Financial Leader with sound technical finance skills, analytical ability, good judgment and a hands-on mindset Strong interpersonal skills, articulate, capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals Well organized and self-directed; team player Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with expertise in Excel Education and Work Experience BS/MA degree in Finance or Accounting Professional qualification such as CFA/CPA or similar will be considered a plus 7 -10 years experience in Finance/Accounting roles Homebuilding, real estate, or land development experience is strongly preferred
